@Leigh Short starter but here we go! <3

There was a certain quiet here that suited the red wraith in a way that could not quite be explained, a stillness that had not yet been discovered in the lands she'd passed through. The past few nights, Atropos had denned within the Hollow in relative comfort. After catching a fox or two, she had settled in to eat and sleep, all the while pondering what the gods had led her here for.

With winter looming before too long, the creature knew she would need to find a place to settle in for the winter. Her run in with the dog wolf had been irritating at best and already, she struck whatever pack he "led" off the proverbial list. With who knew how many packs in the area, she was not yet sure of the entire list but surely, the gods would guide her in the right direction.

For now, she was content to lay here and tear at the carcass she had been working at for the better part of an hour.

Although Leigh was now officially a part of the Saints Of The Dying Light, there was some confusion surrounding her rank within the pack. So far she hadn't been assigned any roles, jobs, or tasks, and during her time in the Canyon she simply wandered around and offered a kind smile to anyone passing by. Her only real job was to hunt, but that was a duty of all wolves.

But the she-wolf was growing tired of the same routine each and every day. Today she decided to change her schedule, take a small adventure outside of the territory. She was sure that Donovan wouldn't mind too much. Besides, perhaps if she stumbled across a stranger, she may develop a positive relationship and help build the Saint's reputation. Yeah, no, bad idea. It'd take a thousand years to fix that.

With a small puff of air escaping her lips, the woman stepped silently across the ground as she trotted around the area. But then something caught her eye.

The beautiful canyons she was used to seeing were a bright vibrant red. But now she wasn't un the canyon, and yet her eyes caught a flash of the familiar color. Stopping in her tracks and turning her head to face the unknown shadow, she waited. For now she'd keep quiet, as it seemed this stranger was much larger and stronger. It had been years since Leigh last trained in fighting, and she wasn't yet ready for a real spar.

Sorry for the wait, lovely!

The girl borne of browns and golds lacked silence, it seemed, the crack and rustle of leaves and foliage alerting the feasting wraith. There was no attention given, not now as yellowed teeth pulled a strip of flesh from bone, exposed, jutting into the air as if a hand reaching for a savior, any savior. There would be none, of course, swallowing the meat before spying into the carcass to pinpoint her next mouthful.

Only then, in the process of picking off her next bit, did she look up with that single eye. It would settle on the girl, watching her as she watched the wraith, though there was no apprehension in the reddened gaze as was spied in the fire-kin eyes opposite. If she was here to best the carcass from the creature, she would be held at bay with snarls and snaps but, as of yet, the red-cloaked fate would swallow her morsel and still. Bloodied maw held over the equally bloodied corpse, Atropos regarded the stranger with apathy, waiting to see what she would do. Or say.

It completely flew over her head. It took the woman a moment to realize that she may be interrupting the stranger's meal, or that she may even appear as a threat. Of course Leigh hadn't come to snatch the prey away from it's owner, she'd probably lose the fight if she tried. There was plenty of prey at home, and the she-wolf was simply out to take a walk.

Her orange gaze met the single, red eye staring back, though she tried her best to maintain a calm and friendly expression. With a small smile lifting her lips, Leigh took a small step forwards, offering a friendly greeting.

"I apologize if I interrupted your meal. I was just passing by."

A fly buzzed near. Her teeth snapped out to catch the pest, the sound coming to an abrupt halt as the wings fluttered from her teeth to become lost amongst the bloodied blades of grass. There was little emotion behined the glassed carmine as she looked to the other, ears tipping forward the slightest bit to catch her words.

You interrupted nothing. The rasp was low, but perhaps audible. Atropos made no effort to increase her volume, perhaps entirely unable to make such a change in her voice anymore. Truthfully, the scarified monster spoke so little that such an occurence had never presented itself.

Come. A rare invitation made to the stranger, beckoning her close with a serpentine tongue.

What had she gotten herself into?

Leigh released a quiet, nearly inaudible gasp as the stranger swiftly snapped their jaws at the fly. The she-wolf stood tense, though not out of fear. It was moreso confusion, hesitation to approach the unknown. The woman had never seen this wolf before, nor had any of her packmates described a red pelt through conversation.

Tilting her ears towards the sound of a rasping voice, she listened carefully, attempting to block out background noise to better hear the exact words emitted by the stranger's bloodied mouth. Was this an invitation perhaps? Was Leigh truly being invited over? And what for?

The red wolf was larger, possibly stronger. Although Leigh was confident she could squeeze out of any trouble if that were to occur, she was unsure if she'd be willing to take such a risk.

For now she'd test the waters, taking a couple of strides towards the unfamiliar face, keeping an eye out for any changes in expression or mood.

If the invitation was declined, there would have been as much care as there had been for the fly. What the souls of the mortal plane decided for themselves was of no matter to the red wraith; there was little they could do to disrupt what the fates had decided for them, and the offer of company was simply a creature comfort, one made to please the longings of this form just as food did. There was no pack to her scent, no wolves that claimed her as kith or kin, nothing but the stink of the wilds clinging to her fur in this moment.

The wolf stepped forward, closer, once, twice, three times before they slowed again, the girl's nervousness pervading her actions, tinting the air with a scent that the monster could not quite put her finger on. What is it that you fear? Whether she meant in this moment or in everything was left to the context that the other took it to be in. For the moment, the fox lay forgotten beneath her.

The woman studied the wolf.

Leigh kept a watchful gaze, eyes sharp as she studied the stranger's facial expressions. Although she was no expert on non-verbal communication, the she-wolf was a gifted observer so in some way, it made up for her lack of skill.

But in this particular case, she was unsure. The red wolf standing before her was rather... complicated and confusing to read. They gave no real indication of their inner emotions and thoughts, at least from what Leigh could tell, and the she-wolf therefore couldn't get a grasp on what this new face's intentions may be. There appeared to be no real threat of danger, but it was better to remain careful rather than become a shredded body on the ground. It was only until the stranger spoke did the she-wolf feel tempted to engage.

"Not fearful. Just unsure. Just cautious."
