All Welcome
roughly same time as the pack howl. hoping for a sibling, all welcome!
attn: @Célnes @Cenric @Ken

nothingness, again, but this more striking and profound;

fréobearn teetered beside the border, unsure of whether she stood the privilege of crossing without consequence. silent doe-eyes scanned the immediate perimeter for movement as she heard the last of their call fade into ambience. moments passed, then she tilted her head back and sounded one of her own, hoping that the answer might be swift and final.

As the last of the founding howl faded into the wind, silence spread through the forest. It was one welcomed as Calhoun trudged through the woods content with going back to daily life, though he was stopped as another howl sounded, this one close and a voice he recognized. Fréobearn. He hadn't seen his cousin since they first entered this land.

Crossing through the trees until they broke, the doe-like form appeared as Calhoun regarded her, Cousin, I see you have found your way. She never did make it to the mountain meetings. Perhaps she lost her siblings along the way. Whatever her reason be, it did not matter, and surely the Kings would be happy to have their sister back.

fréobearn’s disappointment was obvious. it was their cousin that greeted her, rather than any of her beloved siblings. moreover, his apathy was clear in his greeting, making their reunion less than optimal.

she positioned herself to be in full-view, flagging her bobbed tail before dropping it beside her thighs. by the high elk’s grace, fréo said plainly, it was difficult finding my way back from the ruins without.. any signs.

they hadn’t left anything to mark their path, despite knowing that a member of their party was missing. knowing their aspirations, she didn’t expect a scout to be sent in her name, but they could have done something to make tracking easier.

she sometimes wondered while on her journey if they’d intended to never be found at all.

we’ve settled here? she said, testing calhoun’s patience by placing a single paw on the border’s opposite side, tell me what i’ve missed.

His cousin's tone did not go unnoticed. She seemed upset, maybe annoyed, Well, his spirit came through it would seem, no? He could scoff, what need would there be for more signs than a large traveling group of wolves. They too followed the signs of the High Elk, Freo could do the same, and did!

Yes, this is the land of new Kingslend. He was proud of his findings, the forest more than suitable for their family. It breathed beauty just as their previous home had and the land was bountiful from His blessing. Though unfortunately, he would not be able to linger in his joy. Instead, he would be forced to recall the events that had transpired throughout their trip. Ah...where to begin.

How would she take the news of her siblings betrayal? Your brother and sister declared themselves King...along so with changes to our...acceptance. He bit the word in his mouth knowing full well he would never accept, nor would the High Elk, but alas, he must play by the rules until initiation day came. They've allowed a grey man and boy into our ranks. The man is Celnes' guard and pledged to her only. Not our people or the High Elk. I'm sure once initiation comes around he will be tossed aside as he is no longer beneficial to us as a 'guide', or at least that was Celnes' excuse for deeming him important. He still found the matter ridiculous. They had no idea where they were traveling before, how would some outsider know any better?
