Pack Activity
Gonna start this now because it might take a while to finish. To clarify, the goal for this thread is for Earp to die. Maybe start with @Astara? This thread is a free for all honestly
He'd been bored for such a while.
He'd been waiting so long for something. Someone.
To fill his desires.

They never came.
So he'd choose one.

Who better to try than the beautiful Nightshade queen? The one Merrick had seemingly tamed at least a little bit. Oh, maybe he could make her a pretty little submissive toy.
That would be fun.
She'd make lovely Sahiras.

He sought her now. Silently strolling to her den. Surely she'd be there giving her children some care and attention. Even if not he could just hold them hostage. Nothing made a woman angrier than to threaten her young.
Where would Merrick be? Perhaps on patrol. He hoped so. Even just so he could have his way for just a few, lustful moments.

her solitude ended the moment a dark beam pierced the shaft of fading sunlight she basked in; a shadow at her door.

astara’s ears pulled forward, recognizing little of the intention behind earp’s approach. her eyes trained upon him inquisitively, with no trace of suspicion until he breached the sanctity of her den.

in that moment her muscles tensed and she began to rise, but it might be too late.

There she lounged.
" 'ello, love."
Calm and tranquil.
Rising to meet his occasion.

A devil's smirk painted his face.

And he lunged, aiming to drive her down into the deep dark pit where they could tangle in a war for power.
A war of his desire against her fire.
A battle to end all he was.

since being moved to the rendezvous, Avicus preferred to sleep in the open. a den is too confined; she needs space, needs to be able to take in all her surroundings. but she remains close to her mother all the same. even if they no longer share the same sleeping quarters, the girl is rarely more than a good holler away.

and she is close now, too, lounging in the shade of a sturdy pine. she sees the shadow approach and her ears come forward, slightly concerned.

she knows him, vaguely. one of theirs. an Ursus loyal. but there's something in his body language that doesn't sit quite right with her, and it only serves to set alarm bells off within her mind. she rises to a sitting position, watching for now. her muscles tighten in anticipation, indigo eyes burning into the side of his skull.

and then he lunges inside. without hesitation, Avicus takes off, a great ball of fire headed his way. she aims to take his tail in her mouth; once there, she'll pull back with everything she has.

Skoll didn't frequently pass by the Raven's den - it was a place that he found he ever needed to be. Sometimes, though, he did include it in his trecks through the territory. Today was one of those days, a day where he would pass through, make sure nothing was up, and then continue on his way. Skoll liked to be thorough, walk the entirety of the fishbowl that was bearclaw valley. To make sure no intruders lingered in its depth. And even moreso to make sure no one from the Saints decided they wanted to wriggle their way in.

The smells of Ursus covered everything, nothing unusual. Until he caught the sight of one of Merrick's kids. Lunging at one of the wolves that had been allowed to join before, who appeared to be forcing his way in. Lips pulled back from teeth, and the dark man lunged in return.

One couldn't join Ursus and then attack those you roomed with.

It didn't work like that

there it was, a moment too late —

a streak of dark fur as he darted towards her, malice glittering hard as a snake’s heart in his eyes.

astara tried and failed to move away; he hit her full on and sent her tumbling to the ground, flattened under his momentum. in that moment she was briefly aware (horrifying so) of her daughter.

her own safety be damned, but astara would die a million deaths (gladly, too) before any monster ever hurt her child!

she fought back with a heave of her shoulders, feeling earp’s teeth sink deep into her cheek. already she scented blood on the air — rimed by a salty maternal panic which overtook every bit of her instincts.

She tumbled onto her back and his teeth drew her sweet blood into his cursed mouth.
Oh, how sweet she was.
But there it was. Pain behind him.
He'd failed to check his surroundings it seemed and her daughter pulled on his tail with all her bearish might.
Annoying, but not life-threatening.
He kicked out a back leg, hoping to strike her, but unlikely to do so with the nightshade powering her retaliation on his body. Shoving him from her frame.

Then a large force struck his rear, shoving him aside too far to recover from.
Earp whirled, expecting to meet Merrick.
He met Skoll instead.
His teeth drove for the man, aiming to snag him in the neck.

down her teeth came, and she tugged and tugged—but to no avail. his bulk is too heavy to do much with. she is just about to let him loose and try another tactic when his rear leg comes out, snakelike. it strikes her right in the solar plexus and she stumbles backward, wheezing—

she can't breathe

her mouth opens wide, trying trying trying to get some air. after a few seconds that seem like hours, a little release—she takes huge whooping gulps, filling her lungs, gasping—

this isn't like a spar with her mother. this is for real. and if it's for real, then nothing is off the table.

her eyes catch the glint of fangs headed for the other man's neck, and she lurches forward, her jaws looking for weakness, for the barest glimpse of exposed, vulnerable throat.

The kid got kicked, Skoll ignored it. His priority was keeping the traitor away from the pack's lead. His priority was making sure the pack didn't lose a powerful wolf - that Merrick didn't lose a powerful wolf, didn't lose his girl. Avicus would be fine, if not it was a problem for future Skoll. He was able to knock the other dark man to the ground, not before long his vision went white with pain. no. no. NO!

He was not going to allow himself to die here, even with teeth at his neck. Skoll brought up a leg, shoved it at the other wolf, shoved it at his mouth. He didn't notice the kid going for the other wolf's throat in turn.

the thing about fights is -- no matter the consequence, they are over in seconds.

a rush of cold air in the den; skoll as her savior, striking earp and sending him sideways.

astara saw out of the corner of her eyes avicus and a kick -- open mouthed, but she would survive. no horse hoof to the brain, this one -- he would die for that.

earp had turned his attention to the slender hound and it was then astara rose to her feet, lunging for a hock while her daughter went for throat.

the way things were going, this would be over in seconds -- earp's life over in seconds -- and yet, astara still saw red.

late to the party, but arriving exactly in ursus fashion: the feral nature of beasts, joined together in the slaughter of their common enemies. it was always like this. he was alerted by the noise of chaos while strolling, and heard it before he saw it all, but was promptly making his way there. an unknown bastard warring with astara- and there at the scene, her child and skoll. it didn't matter if he was ursus or not; there was no threatening the leaders here, and soon the frogboy was leaping towards the dark man as well. coming from the back, lunging for the other hock alongside astara, eager to snap bone and tear skin.

To reiterate, there is no post order
His mark landed on Skoll and Earp held it.
The leg not doing enough to stop him as it was knocked aside by the drive of his jaws.
Held it because his life really did depend on it.
Where were these wolves hiding when he checked the area?

No matter.
His foot had hit the mark and sent the little shit reeling with pitiful gasps.
What a shame.
Astara was flying for a foot and he was about to neatly step aside when a force struck him in the throat.
Hard.
It knocked the air from him, sharp little teeth tried to dig through his growing winder coat. But that grip on his windpipe was...stronger than anyone could expect.
It chocked him. Then those teeth started to find a way through, his rear was pulled down by the Blackbird and another.
He ripped his teeth from Skoll, probably causing more damage in the process.

He brought up his forelegs in an attempt to scape the demon from his throat so he could crunch into it. Show it how a real bite should feel. But he was losing air, and slowly more blood as it dribbled from the slender puncture wounds. The wounds that grew with every renewed attempt at the youth.

the man had made a fatal error. the moment he had gone after her mother, his fate had been sealed.

she feels her teeth sink into flesh—yes!—and go further. blood coming up. the spongey give of him against her jaws. she's pummeled by forelegs, battered, bruised. so recently reunited with her breath, she is running out of air, and desperately inhales through her nose.

darkness looms at the corners of her vision. but she doesn't care. she will not let go.

for what he dared to do to Astara, she will never let go.

Avicus clings doggedly to him, taking every blow, focusing only on closing her mouth. she takes up the pressure—more, more, more. she won't stop until she reaches his spine. . .or passes out.

whichever comes first.

but she will not let go.

toad arrived, in due ursus form -- if ever astara's heart sang, it was with the joy of violence.

her daughter persisted. skoll fought like a cat cornered. and earp -- earp was soon to be another grave marker downed by ursus' might.

astara winced through the smarting pain of earp's last blow, but like avicus, she would not let go.

he might squirm and he might bash her brains in, but astara sought to hold him down with a bull's ferocity, giving skoll any opportunity she could to clip earp's life from the wellspring of his throat.

toad found the place for his teeth, digging in tightly and dragging the bastard down alongside his strong leader. the child was upon his throat, choking him- and toad grinned through his bite, amused to see a child so influenced by her environment, and her parents, and so different from any child he'd ever known. blood on toad's tongue and down his throat- there was no doubt earp had little time left. one fool against four bears, the outcome had been clear from the start.

He huffed and snarled, shaking his head up and down.
Clutching at the uneven breaths through his constricted windpipe.
Blood was running freer now.
Quicker.

His back legs were pulled out from under him in opposite directions, making his rear tumble to the ground whilst he struggled to hold his front up. He gurgled a scream as he attempted again to swing around and fight off an attacker -- this happened to be Toad, the youth still swinging from his jugular with increasing pressure.

everything
is
fading

and still she clings, even as the yawning dark vignette encircling her vision grows wider; even as a bone-deep tiredness begins to overtake her;

bloodlust staves off, for a few seconds, the inevitable fall.

he buckles and Avicus goes with him, crumbling to the earth. one last clenching of her jaws, eyes squeezing tight in mindless effort—

then her lids slant open, eyeballs rolling back. the world goes black and she slumps, an unconscious dead weight anchoring down Earp's dying flesh. pulled into unwilling sleep, her ruddy pelt spattered with dark crimson.

she will not come to until he is dead and cold.

will someone loosen her teeth from his throat before she wakes?

Skoll was glad that the teeth were gone from his throat, but they had more things to worry about, mainly that the dark man was still fighting. How the hell was he still alive? With Toad appearing, that made four bears. No one should survive that. And then he was reminded of Nyra and got pissed. Sending his own teeth back into the battle, Skoll would be sure to murder this man.

Whites covered in red, Skoll sent them to anywhere he could get.

earp whirled on him with a scream, seeking blood. toad laughed through the clenching of his teeth, fighting off the dark man however he could. where was he, anymore? it was all a blur of fangs and flesh and blood. all he knew was that he had to kill, now- there was no stopping. he didn't even notice the slumping of the youth; all he knew was attacking at this time, and he would not cease until there was nothing left of this man to tear apart.

many fangs drove into the man, whose one fatal mistake had been ever doubting the might of the bear.

astara held steadfast - skoll, toad, and avicus saw to it earp was swiftly eviscerated. between all of them arcs of brilliant red blood sprouted and the den was stained with a dull, coppery scent of salt and blood.

astara's teeth remained taut against the beast, refusing to let go -- she was aware her daughter was down, and would not let go for fear of god until earp was so dismantled and disintegrated that it was certain he would never rise again.

Final post <3 Good bye you creep

Ursus descended upon him.
Forces surged around him, battering his body, breaking it apart.
The clamp around his neck tightened like trying to force the last of the toothpaste from the tube.

He was dragged down, sinking to his belly as the life was slowly choked from him.
Limbs being tugged, holding him fast to the ground as he was throttled.

He snarled, gasped, gagged. The sounds making a concoction of ghastly noises that shouldn't be made in the first place.
But he'd fucked up. There was no coming back from this.
Darkness swam across his vision. Perhaps Astara or Skoll. Perhaps Priest, showing him the way to the Ancients. His body spasmed, legs jerking in an unearthly fashion as his body succumbed to a seizure
from the oxygen starvation. Foam and blood welling from his mouth, choking him further. His own body securing its demise.

Soon enough. Nothing moved. His abysmal form laying flat and dead.
His soul gifted to the Ancients for his terrible crimes against those innocent.
Never to cause such harm again.

hope it's okay to skip to throw in a fader, I know we mentioned closing it up <3

in every wolf, a beast. ursus was no different.

earp jolted and bucked under the might of a thousand teeth -- in short order, his lifeblood had been spilled from him.

astara did not stop tearing until he was in parts. disassembled and dissolute.

there would be no gravemarker to denote earp's once-presence in this pack. no momento to cherish his memory.

just a series of peculiar bones decorating ursus' border; innards and vertebral columns hung like tinsel on the stone-front.

she tended to her daughter first, a lioness' maternal pride in her eyes as she watched over avicus.

earp was no longer -- but toad, skoll, avicus were augmented by his passing. his final service had been a lesson for her packmates and daughter -- trust no one, and kill everything.

noise, from his throat, from deeper. choking on his own blood. toad was relentless, and soon earp was gone- a heap of corpse upon the earth. the frogboy took a heavy breath when he realized the man was a man no longer, and slowly quieted his fearsome battle. fangs released, a step back. a glance to astara- tending to her daughter. he smiled gently; a job well done today, licking the blood from his lips. it was over.
