Joining
There was a river, and he followed it. Simple, right? He didn't really want to think too hard on it because if he did that, it wouldn't be fun anymore. Right now all that mattered was finding food and shelter. He smelt pack here. It was something Ma always told him about with wolves. Wolves roamed in big numbers. Pops had been like that until he met his mate. Then it was blissful matrimony.

Ah, bliss.

As he came toward the border, Dorian sent up a call. An audience was required to proceed. He'd find out what this pack was about. He'd find out what packs were about here eventually - might as well figure it out sooner than later! "Hey, hey, hey!" he barks, thin tail wagging at the approaching figure. Having been raised outside of wolf-society normalcy, he didn't know how to submit. Unless the other person snapped at him, he wouldn't stop wagging his tail and looking grossly happy.

What a nerd.

The borders were very busy as of late, perhaps with the approaching winter, people were scouting around for a possible place to stay - or maybe it was just a random coincidence. Regardless, as the call rang out, Hier was quick to answer. A brisk trot brought him to where the song rang out from, and he could already hear the guy calling out to him in a friendly greeting. Hello hello! He simply couldn't help but call back.

Boy did that bring an immediate smile to the Constable's face. Another friendly individual to meet! His posture loosened and his pace almost quickened even as he grew excited to meet this guy! He didn't care about the waving tail and how high it was, his was probably just as wild now as the man with wide bright eyes came up to the stranger. Hey there, I'm Hieronymous, this is Kaistleoki - what brings you here?

Tossing all formalities aside, this gentleman felt quite casual and friendly so the painted knight just had to reciprocate.

Orlaith was in a sort of grounding, and knowing she was walking on very thin lines, didn't leave Kaistleoki too much. It was somewhat a pain n the ass she will say, though unknowingly so she sometimes went right at the fine-line, removing herself just a bit out of the border occasionally. Usually she counted that as good reasoning for there was loners to deal with, and it seemed no one really caught on that. Not that she thought she was doing anything wrong, regardless.

Upon her usual patrol around the borders, did she catch the sight of someone new, and going 'hey hey hey!' Her tail perked a bit with a widened grin, but it seemed another beat her to the mixture. An 'ugh' washed over her face with a rolling eye looking toward Hiero, as the two were at rather odds at the moment. She thought the man was overreacting to the matter, not to mention she also find him.. Useless to say the least, and only after he came back was he trying to prove some use. Most of her thoughts were on the lines because he was trying to act like a bigshot and yet to prove herself to her

Orlaith thought she could beat him.

It was somewhat bs behavior since he was a higher rank and had nothing to prove to the noble- but she felt it was only right.

Sucking up the issues she held to him, the guard approached with an easy-going smile, "Visitor?"

All Welcome
Oop, he didn't expect it to be returned. Maybe that was a small lie; Ma always said if you were positive, people would respond to it. Nevertheless, the friendly greeting had been returned. Dorian almost jumped on his back legs, tempted to balance like an excitable pup and bounce around akin to a fool. What a great first impression!

But he resisted. "Hi, Hiero - something - cool" Dorian squinted openly at the name, feeling his tongue go fat and useless. He tilted his head dangerously at the guy, wondering how to even say that pack's name. Wow. A mouthful. "name's Dorian." He nodded his head up and down, side-eyeing the other approaching figure. This time a woman.

Her words were less friendly, but she looked relaxed for someone finding a stranger at their border. "I'm Dorian" he would say for her benefit, glancing her way. His tail swayed behind him like a banner, an easy grin festering in the presence of such a pretty lady. "no - I, uh, sorta wanted to know what" he paused, recalling the name of the pack. "Kaistleoki was all about. Maybe join you guys, if ya wanted me?"

It felt like an absolute breath of fresh air. He enjoyed meeting Ambrosia earlier who was also very friendly, and to have another one so soon was simply a beautiful treat! The stranger had a contagious joy about him and as he bounced, Hiero did too like a newborn fawn just finding his legs. It felt like he was meeting an old friend for the first time in years - despite knowing nothing of each other.

Maybe more so like two random kids meeting at a playground just waiting to play some random game together. Ha! It's quite the mouthful huh? Hiero is just fine~ A nickname would be fine too, but no one has come around to giving him one just yet and it felt strange to give yourself one just randomly. Maybe someday.

it was Dorian's eyes that brought Hiero's attention to the extra-company. The call was answered, he thought to himself as he shot her a certain "look". Deflated and unimpressed. Even Dorian's mood seemed to have taken a bit of dip when the woman came around and just popped their joyous little balloon. Turning his attention back to the ray of sunshine Dorian, Hiero's smile returned.

Man he would like to have a friend here, there were some mighty fine wolves here but to have a like-minded man around would be nice. Well, what kind of pack are you searching for Dorian? We certainly have space for another if we meet your expectations.

"You know what? Clearly i'm not wanted." When Hiero shot her an unimpressed look, it gave her the wrong impression. Her fur bristled as she snapped at the Constable, finding it ridiculous he would even treat her that lowly upon someone entering too. She thought to push their differences aside when there was someone interested in Kaistleoki, and came with a smile and unhostility.

"Screw you too." Her words were with malice upon him, simply out of anger and forgetting the factor that man is someone higher then her, and always did she cross a few lines with her disobedience. Though all knew Orlaith wasn't one to listen, and easy to lash out at others. When she gave her finals words she looked scornfully onto him and turned away deeper into the territory.

"Welcome to Kaistleoki!" Her tone full of sarcasm.

"Hey" Dorian couldn't help but say it full of surprise, stepping one step forward. He looked between the two wolves - lover's quarrel? - with half exhaustion and half amusement. "you're wanted! You're totally wanted here!" he'd call after the lady, not knowing what the hell was happening and probably better to stick his nose elsewhere. But - and alas - she had gone. He shot Hiero a puzzled look.

His eyes sparkled in mere seconds again. "It's okay, I'll catch her another time" he vows with full of shit-eating confidence. He flashes the man a grin. "I'm not entirely sure what the hell I'm lookin' for, if I'm being honest" but wouldn't it be nice if it came in the form of this pack? "probably a place to settle for winter, work my arse off for it and make some friends along the way." But that wasn't a good skill list, was it?

He bobbed his head again. "But I can hunt, and walk - like, I heard patrols do lots of walking? Yeah, I'd be good at that" and chatting. And talking. And making his patrol partner scream their head off cause he won't shut up. "honestly, I just want to survive. I ain't full wolf and I don't know how to really... do that alone." His head slipped slightly, a dry chuckle escaping.

For a split moment, the Constable almost felt guilty over the Commander's anger. It was quickly replaced with indifference however as he was reminded how intolerable she was, disrespectful and utterly irresponsible. To be honest, he wanted to strip her of her rank as her outbursts and lack of camaraderie didn't seem suitable for someone to hold such a rank as "Knight Commander". He even remembered how she beamed with joy at the news of Seelie Court's disbandment, how upset Izumi was that day and for her to be upset over not quite being welcomed to greet this man was a small price to pay.

He didn't say anything as Dorian tried to call out to her, she could remain if she wanted but it didn't mean he had to like her being around. And just like that, Dorian was quick to snap back into the conversation they were having previously. I'm certain you will. Very sorry about that. And that was all he was going to say on that matter for now.

Nodding along to what Dorian had to say about what kind of pack he was looking for, he waited for him to finish his thought. Well, you're in luck! Kaistleoki is all about becoming a better you, we can certainly help build on all of those. Ira, our leader, will be happy to have an extra guard and hunter around, I know I will! Another wave of his flag as it happily curled at the end. But of course I would say that huh? Who wouldn't want to boast about their home? He admitted honestly, every pack had to be guilty of such a thing.

"All good" One singular ear flickered back, swirling. He kept his pleasant grin despite worrying if he had been the indirect cause of the woman's anger. He didn't like to dwell on drama for long, glad that Hiero paced the conversation. Glad it was back on track. He chuckles, wagging his tail eagerly. "I dunno about being a guard" he confesses happily "cause I suck at fighting. Maybe that lady can give me some pointers. She looked strong."

Dorian still held onto hope that they could all get along.

He paused, rolling a critical eye over Hiero before smirking. "Or you, I guess. Wouldn't say no to learning how to fight" Dorian could then teach others how to fight, right? "but I'd do anything you guys wanted me to do" he added with another confirming nod. That was what being part of a pack was about, right? "anywhere you lack, I'll pick up the slack!" the man boasted with another wide grin "I ain't averse to hard work and all that jazz."

Dorian almost bounced on the spot again. Bubbly about being the 'better him' that the pack promised, he was enthralled and taken in. "You guys seem like a friendly bunch" the man utters "don't got any skeletons in your closet, eh? I won't find some long buried secret if I stick around?" that smirk grows though "then again, it might be fun if you do." What a story to tell if this regular, average Joe pack seemed to hide a great and terrible secret the whole Teekons didn't expect. He could easily get behind such things. Especially when 'fun' was involved.

"Yeah, I'd like to join if ya still want me." he finishes, hoping not to overload Hiero.

That she is. Even Hiero had to admit she had her moments. Orlaith was physically capable when healthy, a wall, without even needing to test her himself he could see that. He only wished they got along better than they did, she would be such a good addition to the pack if she wasn't so difficult to deal with. We will never force you to do anything you aren't comfortable with. He said with a sympathetic smile.

I do suggest learning a couple of things for self-defense for your own safety, should things along the borders ever get unsavory. Hopefully that day would never come, but who knows what kind of individuals one would meet upon patrolling. At least long enough for someone like me to come help! The man had to add just in case Dorian got nervous. Hiero along with many others in the pack would gladly come to his aid if necessary.

Already he knew he liked this guy, right from the beginning. He had promise as a member, to do good among them, that twinkle in his eye and eagerness to please. Music to my ears~ He hummed musically as if Dorian's bare words were a sweet treat to his ears.

At the mention of skeletons in Kaistleoki's closet, the Constable burst out laughing. He leaned over to jokingly say - Not to my knowledge we don't. If you find any, let me know 'eh? He laughed again before turning to position himself next to Dorian, ready to escort him in as one of the Newcomers to the pack. We would be happy to have you, come on, let me show you around!

He nodded, ready to get going if accepted and willing to be put up with. Dorian laughed as the man laughed - more or less an instinct to chuckle when others did - and leaned in. "Bet" he says, snickering "it'd be too juicy to keep to myself." Which was very true. He liked to gossip just like the next fellow, but he also knew that from what Ma told him... pack news traveled fast.

He'd be a newcomer to them soon enough. A strange to most, until he became their friend and ally. Dorian only hoped he could catch up to that lady and apologize for any wrong doing he may have caused. He really didn't want to be on her bad side - but he had to admit she'd still be pretty (and fierce) if he saw her rear an ugly head more. Hiero took a place next to him, and Dorian leaned his body to bump his shoulder against the man's flank.

If accepted, it was just a friendly gesture to say 'gee whillikers thanks a lot buddy' for the pack accept. "Cool, cool" Dorian said, glancing around and stepping into and above their scent line "lead the way, my buddy. My pal. My friendly guy."

Last from me!! They gotta thread more! These two would be best of pals I can see it 8D

Both men laughed along with one another in a jovial tune, Hieronymous even grinned a mischievous toothy smile at Dorian's words as he felt playful in the moment. like two highschool boys just plotting to do something naughty. Good~ I'd hate to miss out. It almost felt devilish to say despite how empty it all was.

He wasn't expecting the friendly bump on his flank, it took a sec before everything clicked and of course, he would return the favor with a saucy hip-check of his own. Let's go compadre! With a hop and a skip in his step, he pranced off.

Yes, he was confident with this one. He was sure they would get along swimmingly and he was looking forward to seeing more of Dorian... maybe even become close friends if all worked out. He needed more of those, just casual friends within Kaistleoki.

end from me! will archive - but definitely!

He was thinking the same about Hiero, honestly. From the way they greeted each other to the way they joked... it felt good to meet another canine that could laugh. He felt he didn't need to hide who he was. Dorian didn't like to - he wanted to be appreciated for who he was. Not who he felt he needed to be. But he also didn't lie.

He'd do what he could to make sure the pack would thrive. That he promised. "Right behind ya, buddy!" he cawed, walking after the man with a spring in his step. But Dorian couldn't help but shoot a look at where that lady had gone to. He quickly frowned, hoping it wasn't anything he had done. When she had arrived, her actions were friendly.

She had wanted to greet him, this he knew. But maybe... he'd ask Hiero later what the problem was. Maybe he could help.
