For @Hemlocke's trade. Also fast forward from this thread.

She managed to make it back within the safe territory bounds of the Strath, but it had been more exasperating than it should have been. With temperatures beginning to plummet close to the single digits in the night, the frigid air was enough to keep even the hardiest Winter creatures tucked warmly away. It was absolutely freezing on this night, but her blood felt like it was on fire in her veins.

Her entire immune system was disoriented. Regurgitating what she had of the hare laced with toxins, the disgorging did little to quell her symptoms. It somehow amplified the side effects. Her body digested the bulk of the antigenic poison and it was only a matter of time to naturally clear it out… or perhaps succumb to it. The Mackenzie did not want to die on this hill (figuratively and literally) being poisoned from a coyote of all things. Her first instinct was to purge herself and her second instinct was to find the resident medic of the Saints.

It was Dove who was a well-known medic. Her quarters were situated somewhere in the center of the territory, to which it seemed like a grand feat for Zsuzsa to reach from this distance even though it was not difficult in the least to. It was challenging enough for her to follow the river from Sun Mote Copse to where the waters cut through the Strath.

Speaking of which, why were the glowing particles found in the warmer months of Sun Mote Copse found here now?

Zsuzsa shook her head, attempting to rid her vision of the hallucinating glowing objects as she slouched down by the bank of the river. Her abdomen still felt like she was gut-checked hard, as she sucked in her sides in pain. She wasn’t sure if she could make it to Dove’s area in one quick stride as it hurt just too much. She panted, not wanting to delay this any longer but couldn't find the means to continue on.

The sweet hellhound had been plucking, digging and pulling though much to his dismay so much of what little he found was of rot, death and ruin by the winter season. The cold had not so much bothered Hemlocke physically though he was far from a northern wolf and his fur was thinner then those accustom to the colder regions and/or higher elevations. He knew when he got older and probably more so then most, he would be far more kept up during times like these. What bothered him was the lack of his trade, for during summer and springs the land was plentiful of foliage of all kinds. Now, there was little, so he focused less so on medicines and more so onto what else he favored- the Gods.

Hemlocke would prey to them, knowing well they could not favor him because of his blood but hoped they would hear him out for the benefit of his pack. Not all in the ranks were good wolves, bad, cruel even...but not evil, so least he hoped. Some even were good, like @Leigh. So this night he had thought to work hard to find herbs, to not use them for his members but offer them to the Gods in the form of a totem as @Poltergeist had done. So that maybe they would keep his pack safe so they didnt need the medicines for the many battles which they waged.

He had a large Chaga mushroom in his mouth now, hidden deep in the swampy region to the west. He headed gone swift, not wanting to be out in this cold for long. That's when he saw Zsuzsa. He had not spoken with her since their first and last meet yet he had watched her as he often did others within the ranks. She had such a dangerous look about her. A powerful and lean figure. The darkness around her seemed to flow with her, shadows wisping along her like a cloak. Her eyes, as pale as he last remembered them; moons in the night sky. She was everything of a true and powerful wolf he had failed somewhere down the line to before.

Tonight however, she was different then he had ever seen her before. Slumped near the river bank, panting hard even in the thick snow. His head tilts with concern and after a moment he pulls in closer due to his concern. Head lowering and ears pulling back, he silently comes to her side, a silent questioning in his features. What was wrong?

Her psyche was more willing to move than her body was. Which anyone knew that your mind could be stronger than your own body when it came to motivation, but her mind was also foggy even though it had a notion of strong will to continue on. Everything about her paws and legs felt heavy, rooting down in place. A frustrated sigh was given, knowing this was a test of patience. The body’s ancient wisdom and functionality were wise but took its time in processing anything that was an intruder to it. The only issue was becoming a frozen figure of what she once was in the middle of the night.

Without as much as any murmur, a lanky shadow slinked from the frozen shadows. His movement was seamless as much as it was tranquil. The sudden appearance of the hellhound gave her a jolt, catching her off guard, and it was enough to get her to finally move. She backed up some, for the first time her paws quite ungraceful as she then anchored right back down into place. Even the startle wasn’t enough to keep her standing at the moment.

His devil-horned like ears were narrowed down, but his blood-red gaze reminded her of the coyote’s unusual violet gaze. It still made her uneasy. ”Hemlocke.” Zsuzsa breathed, squinting her eyes to gain focus. She knew he had natural red eyes but tried to blink that color away as if it was all a part of the illusion. ”You're not the coyote.” Zsuzsa said this as reassurance to herself, which probably sounded strange. As she said this she wobbled while sitting, dropping her tongue out in a long pant. Her eyes were wide now, a deer in headlights, a look that was almost like she was scared straight of Hemlocke.

Hemlocke had given the woman a startling, to this he was not taken aback by. There had been far too many to count (his leader included) which had been weary and agressive by the fear of the unknown. She knew him, however, but still his quiet demeanor caught others off guard. None of this shook him- it was her body which did. A struggle to scramble herself upwards, her legs shaking and wobbling like a newborn deer trying to get a sense of it's long limbs. And she fell, too, like a baby deer.

Something was wrong with her, very wrong and a quick sniff of her let him know she had no open wounds. He smelt no blood of injury. So she hadn't fallen off the mountain rocks and bumped her pretty little head. She had not been bitten either, from what he could sense. He came to one final conclusion then- poison. But what had this dear night wolf eaten?

She blinks hard and then recognition, taking far to long to make him out as he focuses on her face. Fermented fruit or poisonous berry? Surely not in this weather... He lowers his head slowly, settling the large mushroom down. Easy, Zsuzsa... His dark tones purred out, trying to sooth the shaken doe. There is no coyote here. At least he hoped not for the only one he had encountered here directly was quite a dangerous witch. I wont hurt you... Will you trust me?

The hellhound endowed a mushroom, watching him set it gently down before him. The mere sight of the foraged fungi made her stomach churn. Something about the mushroom made her nauseous at that moment. Feeling her saliva begin to coat inside her jaws, Zsuzsa swallowed hard to have her saliva quell an increasingly upset stomach. An emotion akin to slight fear passed over her dark facade. Hemlocke's assurance was alleviating although she became acutely fixated on the fungi he possessed.

There were a couple of deliberating moments she took in silence, mulling his promise through. Her steel gaze, wide-eyed, searched his deep sanguine eyes. Zsuzsa was attempting to look for a flaw in his truth, but as devilish as his appearance may have been, there was nothing but sincerity in both his tone and reflection. It was genuine concern she had not felt in ages from another. It was a warm quality she picked up from him, even though he appeared like something from nightmares. "No coyote. Got it." The Mackenzie heaved a sigh of relief. Her silver eyes glanced with worry at the mushroom resting before his paws and then back up to him. "...Yes, I trust you." Zsuzsa muttered, although it was said in small and defeated tone, almost as if she was but a little pup again.

Unexpectantly, in one quick heave whatever remnants were left digesting in her stomach, were now splattered on the snow. All she could picture, smell, taste was the damned mushroom fixated upon and perhaps it was a trigger to this symptom. Her neck slumped as she kept her head down, coughing and licking away the remnants of what was regurgitated. "God... I..." This was truly embarrassing and couldn't even bring herself to apologize for how embarrassing it was. This wasn't the second impression she wanted to make at all with Hemlocke.

Her eyes focused for the first time since he had came to her, fixated on the mushroom which he had settled in front of him. She kept her eyes to it, fearful of it, like a rabbit staring down a predator as it was caught off guard and knew it was doomed.

It took her much time to turn over what he had said and pick it through. In truth, likely only a few moments but a few moments she might not very well have. Though he looked everything like a demon hound should have looked, his intentions were purely of angelic nature. Perhaps lost in the dark set of his features, he offers a small smile then at her answer.

And then she threw up.

Quickly, his crown would shake at her apology, his pointed ears perking high. No, this is good. Your body is trying to expel the poison. Deciding he had come to a conclusion of what had happen to her, he became a man of quick action, not wasting time to explain what needed be done to help save her. Eat a little, if you can. He would simply instruct though he did not know if she would be able. I must hurry. Stay. He was speaking the words even as his feet started ro carry him off further into their home.

If the night wolf would heed his advice, the fungi could aid her though it would take days of eating small amounts. Over the days it would boost her immune system, help blood flow and her mental functions. But it would not save her alone when it came down to it. Snakeroots was a plant used well to counter poisons but the shadow had not seen one alive in quite some time now. He did however, have nettleseeds. They could help with weak poisons, though if this was more severe or had been in her system too long...

He whines, dipping his head into a hollow within a knoll. Not far from the pack's borders for quick emergencies such as this where long term care was within. He had storaged away a few things for himself then to give it all to @Dove and in this instance it had done them well. Carrying his effects in a bundled skin, the Thinman raced back to Zsuzsa's side.

Eat the seeds, chew the ginger root. He instructed, hoping she would not waste precious time by questioning his intentions. If she did, he couldnt quite blame her. The root is bitter. He would warn.
