Pack Formation
How fortuitous that everything falls in to place now, at a time when she feels needed elsewhere. The smouldering sky reeks of disaster, the black cloud having gathered in the mountains only to be driven by one of winter's final gales towards the fen; the horizon is streaked with black and gray while the sun is trying to escape, bleeding purple as it heads down for the day.

Ibis has her collection of herbs clutched in her jaws but she lays them at her feet for a moment, wanting to gather her bearings and get an understanding of the plan before she sets out.

As impossible as it felt to keep her own family safe and together, Ibis has convinced herself that this action will make up for all of that. She can help someone, even just one person, if only they get moving now.

As Ibis looks around for @Lilitu and @Wraen, she finds herself staring out across the barrows to the mountains, at least a day away — likely more. She hastily raises her chin to call for everyone, feeling dark portents within the gloaming. Her call holds purpose, summoning everyone together. By now everyone would have seen the darkness on the horizon.

When the quiet resumes Ibis wonders if anyone will join her, or even heed the call — listening intently with an impatience she cannot shake.

Final formation howl thread for Brecheliant! If anyone wants to go with Ibis to MSP this is a good opportunity to bring them along. Let me know if anything should be changed as well. Otherwise — congrats everyone, Brecheliant is now official!

World-changing events do not happen every day. Nor do they announce their arrival. Quite often they are sudden and in a matter of days, hours, minutes even you find yourself in the middle of whirlwind of events that you have no control over. When the novelty has worn off and you get used to the new world order, sometimes there is a single, very vivid memory stuck in your brain about life right before everything became different. It may not have felt very noteworthy back then - a walk in a forest, a successful hunt, a little discovery, for example - but now it become an important milestone.

Wraen had felt the tremors of earth, she may have heard the thundering sound, she had seen the cloud of smoke. Still at this point she had no idea, what had happened. Only a jolt of shock that the devastating situation few years ago was about to repeat itself again. And at the most inconvenient of times. When all had seemed nice and peaceful, when one could plan life ahead with some certainty. Now that was gone on an instant and in the days to come she would rather prefer to linger in the memories before Moonspear's demise than wait for scrambled reports of, what had happened, how many had perished and who had survived.

Before moving on to find Ibis, she stopped, tipped her head back and replied to her call.

they had been spared whatever disaster had come plummeting into the mountains beyond. teya smelled a thousand things in its wake, but her own fear was not one of them.
instead it was a brutal curiosity that held her, one that wished to find the source of what had come down from the heavens, what had thrown all into a blinding white light and then was gone.
the fen was theirs; she tipped her muzzle and answered in wonder, flushed with both pleasure and a deep, hungering curiosity. but she would remain in brecheliant.
she wished greatly to see ibis again, but not in this way; she would be tongue-tied and useless.

Khali had been wandering around the territory to get to know the area better. The game trails are what had caught his eyes, there were plentiful tracks and droppings throughout the area. The mans stomach grumbled as he trotted away from some droppings, almost as if it were saying “that’s food!”. Khali ignored it and continued on his way.

The howl rang out and echoed, it was Ibis obviously with news. Khali immediately halted and turned toward the howl. As he pulled up to the meeting he had seen Wraen who he had given a small smile, Ibis who he also gave a smile too and then another pack mate who he had yet to meet. Maybe this would be good for him to get to know the others. The man took a seat a little ways away from the others.
“Swahili” is in blue, he tries not to speak it so no one will know his past.

She was a little late to answer her mother's call, engaged in singing Maia's troll-songs in an attempt to draw the creatures out. It was really just a distraction from what was coming. She normally liked adventure, but Ibis was so strict that she knew this trip would be no treat.

And yet, she went along willingly. Perhaps she'd regret it later, but for now, there was nowhere else she'd rather be than Mama's side.

Lilitu gave Ibis an affectionate nuzzle to the cheek as she arrived, then sat by her side, gazing upon the man that had joined them. Hi, she chirped, smiling amiably at him. I'm Lilitu. What's your name?

Unaware that she may have just opened up an industrial-sized can of worms, she waited for his response, and for her mother's instructions on what to do next.

A few people arrived. Wraen caught her eye, and then Teya — the man from earlier, Khali. An obliviousness seeped from some of them; Ibis did not have time to explain things and looked to Wraen, knowing they were pressed for time.

Just as her daughter tried to introduce herself to the man that arrived, Ibis gathered her herbs up and finally began to move; but she paused to look to her daughter, waiting for her to take note of the urgency bristling through the young mother. She would have called to Lilitu had she not been preoccupied with the herbs, and tapped a foot impatiently.
