Bitterroot Valley a place to rest my weary soul

All Welcome
Yara felt like it had been days since she'd taken a rest, though it had only been since yesterday. Last night had simply not felt like far enough away from her past, and she was enjoying the chance to really stretch her muscles and run as far and fast as her body would allow. The sights, the sounds, the smells that blew by her as she sprinted headlong into the night, chasing the sun, had invigorated her enough to ignore sore paws and rumbling belly.

Eventually, though, she could wait no longer, and she drew to a stop in an open plain. She could smell something in the grass. Prey animals, though not nearby. A chill wind blew by, and from upwind came the faint sound of splashing. She turned into it, trotting forward in search of whatever water might be available to drink. Her mouth felt awfully dry, and perhaps she'd find something just as tired as her that would be easy to catch. Anything would be better than the garbage she'd eaten yesterdat.

It was not prey that would find her in her wanderings but Imaq, who'd ranged afield of the silver-gilded chief's claim in search of herds or lone wolves such as this one to bolster their ranks. When the northron caught sight of the blonde in the distance, she let out an inviting noise -- beckoning as she trotted closer, hoping to not alarm the girl.

Imaq stopped a few feet away, hips twitching in a repressed form of a wag since she knew it was liable to look silly given that she lacked a tail. She wanted to make a good first impression on the stranger, considering they might be a possible recruit. A flicker of her seafoam gaze revealed that the golden maid was of canine descent like she, causing the piebald to warm to her just the tiniest bit due to their similarities.

"Greetings," the cur tried out the phrase, smiling welcomingly at the woman. "I am Imaq," she introduced herself and waited in return for the stranger's name, hoping she hadn't bothered the weary dispersal.

Yara drew to a stop, looking toward the other canid nervously. She completely hadn't noticed anyone else around, and it put her on edge. Still, her tail wagged briefly, an instinctive response to the wiggle in the other's hips. She turned slightly as Imaq got closer, keeping herself positioned to flee if it came to it. Her ears twitched in the wind.

"Hello, Imaq." She shifted her paws slightly, tail hung straight down but carefully not curled under. "I'm Yara. Is this your home?"

The woman seemed shy, much like Imaq and her mothers and other female kin. The gilded merle smiled kindly, lowering her floppy auds and lowering her golden crown with hopes of making the submissive female more comfortable. "Ah, no," the medicine woman clarified with a small grimace. "Home is that way. Glacier, with Wintersbane and Iana," the shepherd explained, gesturing in the direction of Duskfire Glacier with a sweep of her freckled muzzle.
