All Welcome
So far, life was not very interesting for Sphyra. She tried her hardest to make it as interesting as she could for those around her, though. Spyra was a fussy child; every touch made her cry out in indignation, and every feeding moment was a time for her to go to battle and fight for The Best Teat. Because naturally, that belonged to her. It was an abomination that her siblings didn't see it the same way, honestly.

Today Sphyra had found something on the den's floor that piqued her interest. She licked at it — a small fluffy feather — but much to her horror it stuck to her tongue. Unwanting to get the fluffy thing inside her mouth, Sphyra's tongue with feather attached kept hanging outside of her mouth, and she started walking backwards through the den in an attempt to get rid of it (which, needless to say, did not work).

To this point, Sapsucker was lucky her mom was deaf, because any other parent might have sat on her by now. She complained about just about anything and everything. Today the end of the world was in the complete lack of attention she was getting.

Tierra felt Sphyra move away and whined in response, her little lungs gearing up to go full on squeal if no one grabbed her soon.

Her stubby legs pinwheeled and she moved in the opposite direction.... accidentally shoving herself away from the little group that was her other siblings and (likely) mom.

They left her? How dare they leave her! The whine became a small shriek, then a repeated series of almost-howl complaints while she continued to test this new (and absolutely horrendous) register.

Y'all are welcome to power-play and/or skip mama to your heart's delight.

She tried to fetch a nap, though of course it was an exercise in futility. Sensing something amiss, Towhee cracked open one bloodshot eye just in time to watch one of the twins choke on a feather. Wearily, the Sovereign mentally groused at whoever had so irresponsibly left that there. Careless piece of shit, Towhee thought, unaware that she was in fact the culprit.

Though she couldn't hear their cries, she certainly recognized the behavior via its visual cues. "C'mere," she muttered, not sure who was who as she rose partially to scoop the wayward twosome back toward herself. Towhee none too gently removed the feather from her daughter's mouth before attempting to corral them both toward a well-abused nipple.

Her twin's noise fell to (literally) deaf ears. It wasn't long after Sphyra started fussing about the feather that she was suddenly picked up, though, and scooped back towards Mother's side. Finally she was released from the feather's cruel embrace, and then placed by the milkbar.

Sphyra wasn't hungry though; she was in an exploratory mood. Undeterred by the feather-encounter, she clambered over her sister and started crawling in a different direction, looking for more things to encounter and discover.

Someone was stepping on her. Sapsucker wriggled, then let out a mewling whine of pure distraught offense. The offending weight remained where it was and she huffed, then flattened to the ground piteously.

Obviously no one cared about her thoughts on the matter, so she'd throw a fit of ignoring her sister entirely. Take that!

Except... now she couldn't reach the food. So her resolve lasted all of .2 seconds before she was back to wheeling her paws and complaining. Always complaining.

The adventure over Mt Sapsucker took her some time, considering she was only small and not very fast yet. She grunted at the exertion as she tried to climb, having already forgotten why she was here, but halfway through her efforts the mountain suddenly started to shift. Oh no, an eruption! As Sapsucker started to move Sphyra let out an yowl of indignation — HOW DARE! — and she tried to continue her journey, but then started slipping and rolled off Sapsucker's back, neck and face.

This was what dying felt like, Sapsucker was sure of it.  She was crushed beneath the weight of her terrible counterpart.  The world was ending, her time was here, and surely nothing would ever be so bad as this!

In reality, Sphyra rolled off of her fairly quickly, and the pup's squat body was sturdy enough to take that and more without breaking a sweat.  But Sapsucker still let out a piercing, squealing whine before scrabbling around and aiming her toothless mouth for Sphyra.  See how the vagabond liked that!

The trip rolling off her sibling seemed to take forever, and she felt a little jumbled when she reached the foot of the hill. Before she could get up a toothless mouth found her — a sensation she was already well accustomed to now — and with another yowl Sphyra parted her mouth too. It was the battle of the biggest, giants colliding — well, in reality it didn't look like much as Sphyra's toothless mouth tried to find and subdue Sapsucker's toothless mouth while letting out growlish puppy squeals.

Sapsucker's shrieks matched her sister's in volume and pitch, a rumbling growl that was meant to be ferocious and sounded more like a purr than snarl. She nommed at her sister's face, but simultaneously whined and complained as her sister's drool got her own fur wet. As a final bid for victory, Sapsucker reared up and rolled, hoping to drape herself across her sister and pin her down.

Instead she fell short, unable to hop more than a few inches from the ground. With a rumbling little yelp she rolled sideways, flailing her paws instead.

good to wrap if you like! <3 maybe we can have a more recent one!

While the two giants fought, both of them trying to gain the upper hand, neither was too small to truly gain any sort of upper hand. Eventually Sphyrapicus grew tired (yes, it was possible after all!) and she flopped down on her side and fell asleep rather abruptly, still half draped over her sibling while she started to gently snore.
