All Welcome
It had been many weeks now—maybe months—since Kohia had set out from Ascalon. At first she'd made great pace, winding her way through forest undergrowth and up into the foothills that surrounded the valley her family had called home. Adrenaline had fuelled her more than anything else, though she couldn't deny the effects of anger and fear. For those first few nights, the she-wolf had hardly slept, haunted by the very real possiblity that she was being followed. Worry for her family had made her slow down her pace in the coming weeks, but despite her best efforts at navigating west—the one instruction her mother Etena had given her and her siblings—she'd never ran into any wolf she knew. It was Nahoa and Maru that worried her the most. They'd set out with their mother, both being adolescents, but Kohia knew what might happen if the wolves who'd killed her father—may he rest in turmoil—caught on to the scent of a mother and two pups.

Inhaling deeply, she closed her eyes as she let the thought dissipitate back into the darker recesses of her mind. There was no use dwelling on it anymore. Siaki and his pride, his carelessness, had cost her pack everything. It had been difficult to accept there was nothing she could have done, but eventually she'd had to make her peace.

It seemed she'd been traversing grassy foothills for what seemed like an eternity before she came upon the open field. It stretched on as far as her eyes could see, though, as she squinted, she was almost certain she could detect the hazy outline of a hill on the horizon. She must keep going west. A tentative sniff of the air and a cautious glance around was all she needed—she descended fast into the flatland, allowing her silhouette to be swallowed by the meadow's grassy embrace. If her nose had been correct, she wasn't too far from packlands. It was always difficult to tell, this far away, which scents were simply passing wolves and which were something more cohesive and unified, but her instincts had never let her down before.

It was a worry, certainly, though she doubted the field belonged to anybody. It wasn't as though she meant trouble. Letting these thoughts reassure her, she made haste towards the horizon.

One month had passed since he was kicked out of his pack violently; not physically mind you, but verbally it was made more than obvious that he wasn't welcome back home. Unless..well, unless he didn't came home empty-handed. His sister had been very fast to acquire a lover and a mate, all in one. She had fallen head-over-heels with a loner that joined the pack ranks in the hope of one day becoming Alpha, together with his sister. Truthfully, the idea of this bad rom-com without any drama sickened him to the core; not that he was opposed to romance but because it was so picture perfect. It held a situation and scenario that his bachelor heart couldn't live up to, and in fact, didn't want to because he didn't crave it at the moment.

There was a reason why he had been hiding away from any wolf presence for a month since it was the season of spring, the season of love and puppies. The one thing his old father craved for and the one thing he didn't want (at this moment) simply because he wasn't ready. In fact, the feeling became a burden since the one thing he longed for the most was to be with his birth family but not at those terms and conditions. So far he enjoyed his time here at Teekon Wilds and it had become a wild ride; from chasing bees with Meerkat to playing inspector Gadget with Lele. The wolves so far appeared to be good-natured, except for Ky-Ky who worked in mysterious ways and tugged at the dark heartstrings from within.

It was with these reflective thoughts that he scurried through the meadows, thinking back on everything that happened. What a whirlwind it had been. The young alabaster wolf didn't realize that it were these same meadows that provided romance and entertainment for young couples as they gathered around the colorful flowers, counted butterflies, had some food and enjoy the warm rays of the sun on a fading afternoon. Those lovely-dovey feelings stirred some disgust from within, probably caused by his father's harsh words and exile out of the pack. Once his honey-brown eyes gazed at the scenery, he noticed a wolf faintly in the distance. "Oh, hey there!" He friendly greeted her, not wanting his presence to be a surprise.
