Spree
hoping for a spree, but doesn't have to be, anyone welcomed!

The lake was stunning. Wildflowers in bloom brushed along her legs and underside. Sycamores loomed with shade to provide if one wished.

She hoped she would find something of use here. A plant, a meal, a face. She would accept any of them — and as she looked over the area, she figured it shouldn't be too hard to find any here.

A low summoning sound escaped her voice. Hopeful to beckon the attention of any nearby. Wolves were social creatures, after all.

Ollie had slept in the forest to the east the night before, and was finally breaking through the trees now, around noon the following day. It was a beautiful day--the sun was shining, there was a floral scent in the air, and he could sense that he was near water. As he stepped out into the open, and saw the lake before him, he heard a low howl off in the distance. Friendly. His tail wagged in anticipation and he returned the howl (though it was much yippy-er than a wolf's), and took off at a steady lope, the undergrowth and stalks of flowers dragging at his belly and legs. It was truly a glorious afternoon. And, up ahead, he saw the woman who had called him. "Hullo!" he said, putting on a cheerful expression.

Don't mind this broody guy, off to the side... probably looking like someone kicked his puppy.

Hollow.

It was perhaps the only word he could connect to his current being, for the moment, and so the dark shadow moved past the borders of his alleged home, seeking some sort of distraction to the scent of milk and youth.

There was little to be done for the moment when he had questions to be answered—Ibis was tending to her newest litter, expectant that he should simply wait for her to be ready once more to welcome him back into her life. A life he hadn’t walked out on—had been taken from.

His confusion had given way to a certain sadness—but now there was a flare of indignation and fury that nestled to the very core of the man, and it might have reflected within the champagne eyes of his as they fell upon two others—both in what appeared to be the throes of a first time welcome.

His tongue slid over his teeth, a frown marring his features only momentarily before he forced a neutral expression.

If he simply continued to go, he was almost positive his disappearance would be welcomed by his estranged wife.

His ex-wife?

Hello! She called back warmly to the odd creature. Canid, certainly, but...she struggled to place his kind. Such large round ears with odd coloration in his coat. Not to mention his call had been so yippy! She was intrigued by him.

Although they were not alone.

Some sort of glum figure was not very far off, examining the two of them.

Oh, are you two together? Questioned warmly as she glanced from the unique stranger to the shadow off to the side.

A dark shadow seemed to linger, unwelcome, in the corner of Ollie's vision. When the woman asked if he and the shadow were together, he shook his head silently, emphatically, and moved so that he stood closer to her and farther from the dark male. Yet... He felt rather guilty about his immediate dismissal of the man. Perhaps the shadowy figure simply did not know how to make friends. Swallowing a little fearfully, he inched toward the male, his ears swiveling forward, tail set to a tentative wag. "H-Hello...?" he said, though it came out sounding more like a question.
