a taste of the outdoors had brought mireille new knowledge.
under watchful eyes, the little sea creature dashed along the sandbent shoreline, searching for @Loko. in her mouth, two feathers attached to a bit of gristle; she had run away from fat sobo and curious coraline, and come now to find her brother, chuffing toward him in imitation of their mothers.
there's too much left to taste that's bitter.

Loko had his head buried under a rock, where he had excavated a hole just big enough for said head in a quest to reach the source of some scent or the other. His rump was stuck high in the air. His tail was wagging. The truth was that he had dug for so long that he had forgotten what he was after and was now digging more for the sake of digging than because he thought there was something to reach.

He backed out upon hearing Mireille's chuff, greeting his sister with a snout and paws covered in dirt. The grin he gave her was lost to a slackening of his jaw as he became transfixed on the object she had brought him.

Oooh. He breathed.

He wanted it.

Loko dropped his chest down, his eyes glinting into sister's own as he drummed the ground with his front paws. His tongue curled up the side of his mouth as he wriggled with coiled energy.

loko was responsive, and mireille dropped the bit of tattered bird toward her brother at once. "c'est un oiseau!" her voice was sharp, words only slightly blurred, and informative, the tones of their spice-toned maman.
but it was with rosalyn's poise that she watched her brother now, feeling herself quite older and more matured, now that she had brought prey to him. she yipped now, darting to one side, inviting loko to guard the toy while she lunged forward for it.
