All Welcome
The borders refreshed for the night, Tulimaq returns to the rendezvous that the bulk of these hunters inhabit with a scowl upon his face. He has yet to find any trace of Kanuk's killer; whoever it was, whatever it was, has not crossed in to their land.
Perhaps that absence was a clue within itself. The warning of wolf urine could have been enough to dissuade some beasts. He kept this in mind as he stalked towards the place of meetings.
It was time for him to rest, but he was not feeling the need. So he paced there until he grew bored, then sat, and watched the sky with all of its stars, mind empty.

she, too, is restless.

sleep plagued by fitful dreams and lurking shadows within, Avicus rises from her hollow and pads toward the figure near the edge of the rendezvous. she parks herself alongside her Ulfhedinn, and the two sit quietly for a brief moment or two, their breath fogging in the midnight air.

our number low, she murmurs, eyes lifting, too, toward the stars. how many they were! if only Redtail Rise could be so fortunate. and Nyra near. our ally came o'hher dhay, 'hholdh me big whihh' woman hadh made borderhh, hhreah'hen her chil'ren.

she shakes her head, slowly, finding the moon in the clear sky. the light of it turns her eyes a stark bright blue, the twin hearts of the fire that she was.

then she turns to Tulimaq. we needh' more, she says baldly. more warriorhh. . .an' chil'ren to 'dhrain.

"there was a man that wanted to fuck you."

a question glimmers in her gaze.

The girl that helmed the pack of hunters and warriors came upon him, and sat, and watched the stars. They were silent together. The wolf wondered what she was thinking; then she began to speak in the slurring manner afforded by her broken tongue.
Threats were apparent. The pack had been on high-alert since the loss of Kanuk. News that this Nyra was closeby intrigued Tulimaq - not enough to comment, though.
He rumbles softly, thoughtful, and watches her in time to catch the look in her eye. Had the time come? Was she finally understanding what must happen for her to get what she wanted?
What are your orders?

her orders. she wishes they were so simple as to say, plainly.

chil'ren, she repeats, and gives him a long look. i wanhh'em. you— she pauses, but the reticence isn't bashful, only a lack of proper words.

Avicus shakes her head, giving a huff of exasperation. you, she repeats firmly.

she will pose the question to the others, too. she wants them all—she wants their bodies, brains and tongues for her own pups, the best of each man here.

only the best will beat Nyra.

how? she asks, and her tail swishes slowly behind her. how. that's a good question. she waits for his next move, squaring her shoulders yet relaxing enough to let him take the lead.

Chil'ren.
He knew it would not be long before she saw the value within her womb, the power there, and he was pleased that she had reached this point. It did not surprise Tulimaq that she would choose him either; he was capable of many things -- and without a powerful enough rival to compete against, she sought the strength he could share.
Her question after, of how, earned a small scowl.
Let me show you. She faced him as if to battle, and he prowled around her -- in part to look for weakness, but mostly to get himself behind her. He searched for signs of her heat and wasn't certain it was there.
That didn't mean he wouldn't begin the lessons. Tulimaq advanced upon her and with a low, appreciative rumble in his chest (more inviting than threatening) he nosed along her hip, hunting for signs of change to her scent.
If Avicus turned upon him now, he would know she was not ready. One had to wonder if that mattered either to Tulimaq -- or if he might just go ahead and help himself, given he was within reach of her and, like many men, ready at the drop of a hat.

as she had with Augur, as she has with some many others, Avicus freezes when Tulimaq draws near. her entire body stiffens, and a growl begins to purl in her chest against her volition.

he touches her, and she resists the primal urge to turn and snap.

each inch he finds inflames her. every hair stands aloft, particularly upon her spine: a ruddy razor's edge. she takes a deep, steadying breath, the toes of her paws drawing tight into the snow-packed ground.

go on, she says curtly, gritting her teeth against each warring pair of sensations.

to fight or—how'd he say it? fuck?

The girl did not fight him. She wanted to; there was an elevation to her fur that he could watch, creeping from the point of contact and out. He listened to the rumble in her chest and felt it stirring something primal in his belly. No, she did not fight him. She encouraged him.
He could not detect anything different about her scent. If she wanted warriors then that would be an important aspect to keep in mind -- something to wait for, maybe. Tulimaq saw no reason to take his time. He drew so close to her and then grappled at her hips, without warning.
Tulimaq decided for himself it wasn't worth it to give her time to reconsider. He grasped her hips and climbed across her lower back, feeling the rumble of her warning through her skin rather than through his ears, which made him feel powerful.
This girl, this wealda -- she was strong-willed and primal, as he'd learned, but she was still only a girl. What could she do now, with him positioned like this? Tulimaq rumbled a pleasant note and held the fur between her shoulders in his teeth, tugging at her, holding her in place.
He'd let her go after the deed was done.

and thus, the girl became a woman—

ha!

Avicus had entered adulthood upon drawing her first blood, and when had that been? early enough; she vividly remembers grasping at a man's throat, of fading into blackness and yet! her mother that day had been avenged.

no, this man's claim upon her body means nothing but a furtherance of her education; she bears it patiently enough, and when it is over, she turns to him.

a little sore, a tad unsteady. but her eyes meet his dead-on.

okay, she says, her tone still brusque. but the touch has, at least, unlocked something primal within her, and she lunges at him without warning, snapping playfully but intently at his shoulder with gleaming fangs.

He isn't satisfied with one round, but when he is finished with her body he releases her, as he had decided before. His body is quaking lightly from the exertion of it all - and he is hungry for more; perhaps she is too, given how swiftly the girl recovers and then snaps at him.

She's a warrior; a queen of warriors. If Avicus wanted to draw his blood there would only be a split-second to avoid it; yet no blood is drawn from Tulimaq's flesh. Perhaps she only means to reprimand him for being forward, or -- she is hungry, too, after her taste of it.

The low rumble within his chest becomes a challenging call, and a grimace -- no, a smile -- slides across Tulimaq's face. If she is after a fight then she'll have it. The winner can decide what to do to the loser.

Tulimaq's teeth click through the air as he tests her will.

she doesn't mean to draw blood, nor taste it. not now. she is playful, cajoling, her normal savagery bridled. well, at least until he gives the trumpeting sound of challenge, and then—

Avicus thrusts her head high in the air, rearing slightly onto her hindquarters to seize the top of his muzzle in her mouth, if he'll allow. and god help him if he does not.

her eyes lock with his; they hold no malice but are gimlet. unrelenting.

mine. all of it. this land, these beasts, and you

only a few heartbeats pass before she releases whatever hold she has, and returns to the earth, tail sweeping in a fast, high arc.

Tulimaq welcomes her teeth. The look in her eyes is one of possession; not needy like some women he has known, not weak like a child's. She knows what she's built and how to wield it.
She holds firm to him too. Her teeth across the bridge of his muzzle. Tulimaq does not fight this and soon enough, as Avicus relents, the beat of her tail draws his eye. He rumbles - some sound close to affection maybe, or a similar possessiveness - and bows his head to her.
If she has no other use for him, he will return to his duties (although now Tulimaq wonders if his duties include this new joy they can experience together).

she relieves him with a nod, indicating that she's headed toward the border for some much-needed refreshing.

and if he'll be so kind as to join her. . .?

a new understanding has bloomed between the two leaders, a knowledge forged in flesh. and perhaps, with luck, they've helped plant the seeds for the future, too.

fade here for new threads?
