note to self, setting this before BFW thread!

why was he here?

he had asked himself that a lot, but it never became any clearer. especially as he weaved through the plateau. nothing interested him these days.

his pattern was vague at best. as long as he slept and kept moving, he was pretty content. happy to go wherever he could. avoiding borders of anybody he smelled, not interested in getting tied up somewhere again.

it was clear to him that he was not cut out for anywhere in particular.

so he had no problem, digging and rooting through remnants of packs and attempted packs of times before. maybe he could find somewhere to stay for the night before he moved on once more.

thanks for starting! and for her timeline, set before this one.

she found herself drawn back to the plateau.  her meeting with lótë was still fresh, and with it came a crackling confidence that stirred deep within.  it budded and bloomed, and though it was still new and fragile, she hoped it would stay.

it was when she walked without intention that she found the most value. perhaps it would be the same today, she thought as her attention was drawn to another traveler.

she made herself apparent as an inviting howl was cast across the flat distance.

a...call?

he hadn't really anticipated anybody wanting to call for him. especially here in a place that seemed rather desolate. maybe he had accidentally missed something.

so he'd turn to face her, features a bit sunken like a guilty dog.

uh, hi?

half expecting teeth to greet him. not that it would make much sense for her to strike after making herself known.

the way he regards her reminds her of her own surprise.  she realizes, almost immediately, that it is not a pleasant look to carry.  she would strike this behavior from herself.

she puzzles over him for a moment, not sure what to make of his uncertainty.  finally, she settles on hello.

the word hangs in discomfort before she continues.  i am marina.
