this can be an RO post or single-reply! the second phase of the mourning period has begun <3

@Siptah stood with him.
first they had gone to say a prayer over satsu. the sun had all but scoured the scent from her body. but her proud, delicate bones still faded. gifts from her children and her subjects lay piled all around.
now, pharaoh and hawk-in-the-nest stood upon a languid rise in the centermost of the slow river. around them, sharp edges and rounded sides of sandstone and grey rock rose from the earth. ramesses paced the length of the small island and looked back at his son.
"here."
when they passed back to the mainland, he sent sihaya to rally all of akashingo. with the exception of @Maegi@Jawahir, and @Treva, he expected everyone to be in attendance: @Gucci, @Makono, @Ashikaga, @Charles, lilitu, @Qiao, @Ahktar, @Sokha, tavina, sayf, nazli, and @Zakariya.
as they gathered with sayyadina coming to stand near his left, and sihaya behind the crowd, ramesses deliberately looked to his son. not even a full four months had passed since his birth, and yet the boy seemed older, a testament to his somber face and the true royal arrogance already shining in his princely face.
"at the end of our mourning, queen satsu will be laid to rest here. in the interim, all of akashingo, including myself, will help to build a mound of stones upon which she will be laid and then interred with more of them from the eye of Ra."
his jaw tensed. but his head was proudly lifted.
"prince siptah's first act as regent and heir will be to oversee the building of his mother's tomb. you will defer to him in all things, and you will limit unnecessary tasks so that you may serve at his whims."
"you will help to bring stones to that island there," ramesses motioned. "the river is shallow for now. it will not be difficult to ford while the sun remains high. and the land itself is filled with all manner of rocks ready to serve our queen as a resting place."
this was the way that all things had been done.
"his sisters, the princesses nekubi ashikaga and nekubi makono, will assist him with choosing the final fine items queen satsu will bring with her as she travels to the Land of Reeds and truly creates her own palace there."
his voice hoarsened.
"i decree that the fellahin maggie be entombed with queen satsu, to be her companion and servant in the world after our own."
"so let it be written. so let it be done."

One from me! <3

It would be a fine resting place for Satsu. Siptah surveyed the area, nodding once to show his agreement. This would be her final resting place; Siptah could think of no better. It was a beautiful place.

He was to oversee the building of the tomb. It tore fresh wounds into his still-healing heart, but he did not let his emotions betray him this time. He was stoic, his expression hard, but composed, as his father addressed Akashingo.

When all was said, Siptah remain quiet. He would bring the first stone to the tomb, something he felt he needed to do. Even as he laid it there, his shoulders grew heavier, but he would ignore this, and instead commune with the rest.
Physical Health (100/100)

Siptah is healthy.

Mental Health (65/100)

Siptah is grieving the loss of his mother.

royals, nobles, priests, guardsmen and servants, all together working to create a temple to their radiant queen. gucci thought he was finally witnessing the true, raw nature of a wolf pack.

you cut one...

there was little a man his statue could do, expect be present to run errands for the workers, bring refreshments and carry messages.

when free he kept himself in shade, and worked on his gift. it was measly, as he was no craftsman, but there was something he could use his tiny teeth for.

rib bone, and he tried so hard to carve into it symbols. three little wolf heads, for sobekneferu's children, and a large one of her husband-king. three serrated lines to show the years of her life ( so young ) and the tip of the bone he tried, with massive difficulty, to make look like a cobra.

he hoped to once the work is done, it would look decent enough to lay in the queen's tomb.

and all the while, he couldn't help but look at the children, and feel pity for the.

... they all bleed

Charles stayed at a distance. He did not understand any of this, and honestly, the less he understood of it, well... perhaps it was for the better. These customs weren't very known to him yet. All he knew was that he was happy that he was a Prince, and not a servant, so far. He watched the ceremony numbly, keeping to himself and keeping quiet as he watched Ramesses speak. Numb. Not sure what to think. Maggie? Who was that? He did not think he knew her... perhaps he'd seen her in the halls once or twice. Entombed? Serve in the world after our own? Was such a thing possible..? Charles did not know, but the day brought him more questions than answers thus far, and he was not planning to go and get those answers right now. Stones. They'd bring stones. That was something he could do. That was something he understood.

makono felt a rawness to her heart today.

although her face remained stoic, there was a true sharpness in her gaze today. eyes looked sharp to the crowd and she expected everyone to be dutiful in their listening and acting. she noted with only a brief fondness as one of the neb seemed to work away at a gift.

this she felt great interest in, briefly.

soon enough she would fall into work with her brother. they may have drifted from time to time, but she would make sure his work in this task was done properly with the full support of his pointed sister.
