Heat thread #3.

Her time was nearly up. Despite the encounters she had before, the irresistible urge that burned within her was still very much alive. Keyni didn't know that she would be affected so deeply this season. That she would fall victim to her own basic instincts.

Last year she had controlled herself. Resisted and stayed clear of roaming males. But not this time. She could no longer deny what she wanted. She had but a single thought and that was to get rid of this spell wrapped around her by any means necessary.

Through the forest she roamed, eyes alight. Intent on her mission. Her scent leading a trail of temptation while she called in a soft, crooning voice into the wind.

Zeal found his way to the rich woodland, hoping for something promising within the vast tangle of brambles. This place was as bountiful as any he had passed through, though more secretive, and the scent of new seasons and new beginnings thick in the air.

There was another scent too, one that brought him to pause and savor it. The pewter man raised his head to search the perimeter of the forest for the culprit, a beckoning song catching his ears. He shrugged and gave his frame a stretch to relieve the new insistent pull, but it did not go, and so he followed after, a new beat to his steps.

A soft huff announced his presence, and he stood regarding the muted silvery woman where he had spotted her form as she wove through the trees. "Where are you going?" he questioned bluntly, an admiring glint in his eyes.

Someone came to find her. A dark furred man of platinum. Bright eyed and scarred. Rugged with an appeal that drew her in instantly. The Tundrian turned, her movements a little slower than usual, as if to emphasize her own assets.

Her tail was held high above her hips, waving in stiff, rapid succession. The energy around her was electric, her scent sweet and earthy. "I have no destination. Only wherever fate intends to lead me today." Jadestone eyes shone with an unspoken message. A ghost of a smile on her lips. She was right where she was supposed to be.

She turned, and his breath caught in his throat. Who exactly was this, that she could put such a spell on him so easily? His own smile was more brazen as he stepped closer, he would overstep no bounds but he would not stop if he sensed none.

Fate. A soft laugh came emanated from his chest, not mocking but gentle. How funny that she'd choose that word. Any other day it might have caused the man to want to fight the pull, but maybe she was right. Maybe it was fate after all. If it was his fate to meet her here today, he found that he didn't mind at all right now.

He stepped past her closely enough that his fur could all but brush against hers, mingling in that perfume, and circled to face her once more. She could walk on the way she was headed if she wished, but as he found her gaze, he spoke his case. "Then why not stay?"

Jadestone eyes roved over every inch of him, up and down. Her heart quickened in her chest. He was quite the catch. Static prickles danced between their fur as he stepped by. Keyni's breath hitched. It could barely be considered contact but it left her craving so much more.

"I have found you." She answered calmly but sweetly. Oh there were others who she should be thinking of now, but they were well out of mind. Deep in the swell of her heat, she had made it clear, now more than ever, that she was keeping her options open. She was available in more ways than one. "That is reason enough to keep me here, this day."

She did not retreat from his closeness, looking up to peer back into his golden eyes. Slowly, she extended her muzzle out, to sniff at the fur lining his nape, if he would allow. She wanted to read a few pages out of his book. Wanted more to be consumed by his presence. Her invitation was wide open for him.

She was as cool as a river, as beautiful as rapids. And he was caught in the current. His breath came as a gentle purr from deep in his chest as he moved closer, allowing her explorations as the invitation was mutually accepted. Zeal nuzzled gently at her ruff just behind her ear, letting the silver strands tickle gently against his nose. Her fur was as soft as clouds, he noted dimly as he tried not to drown in her scent.

Then she spoke once more, her voice just as sweet as cool spring water to a man lost in the wilds. "And I've found you," he answered, more than pleased to savor this momentary reprieve from the harshness of life, to share this gentle moment of intimacy with a beautiful stranger. Would anything come of it tomorrow, who could say? But for today, this oasis of silver and jade was the whole world. "This is right where I want to be," he breathed.

This felt right. Thoughts left him, the world narrowing to a sensory exploration. They were carried from each moment to the next lead by instinct.

The pull she felt towards this nameless, scarred man was natural. He drew her in further, welcoming her. Giving in to his gentle coaxing, she stepped close with no further caution. Woven in her fur were the scents of many others. All whom she was close to, but forgotten in this moment.

Keyni rumbled lowly in her chest, the ear he nuzzled flicking involuntarily. Hot, tingling flames shot up her spine. Hitching her breath, she cuddled up close against the curve of his chest. She used her nose to stroke up along the lines of his throat, delighting in his aroma.

He affirmed he wanted to be here too. With her. Smiling with a soft hum of saucy agreement, words had left her now. She wanted to feel. To touch. Give and receive. Get lost and all wrapped up in the charming presence of the dark wraith. Skipping ahead coyly, she flagged her tail again in a come hither like motion.
