All Welcome
tags for reference, all welcome.

Vidaar was, once again, left to be watched over by the man that had stood over him that day, @Kevalin. Vidaar eyed him outside the den with suspicion and wariness. He wanted to take the man down, but he was going to need help from his sister @Venere if he was going to have any chance. Maybe with their mom's lessons they could. He gently nudged his sister and stared daggers at the man. He hoped his sister understood as he walked away from her and slowly approached his target, ready to attack. If she didn't help him, it wouldn't stop him, he'd had enough of this man and he wanted it to be known.

Their mother had left again, and they were overseen by the red-faced man once more. Venere was getting cranky, cooped up in the den all the time — she wanted to stretch her legs. So, when Vidaar nudged her and looked to the man, Venere grinned slyly.

She scrambled to the den entrance, nearly falling out of it in her excitement. She didn't even wait for her brother, she just threw herself at Kevalin and started biting. Maybe she would get to taste his blood, too.

His back to the den, he sat overlooking their territory and the vast greenery that he had come to call home. Vex was out as per usual, so he took up his self appointed baby sitting/guard duty. He wasn't really sure who he was trying to protect anymore. The albino boy was lucky to be spared from his siblings so far, but soon enough that would change when they see their mother's interactions with him. Maybe he could set an example? "Ow!" What the heck, kid?"

The girl was biting him, not just biting him, outright attacking him. He quickly stood up, dancing his paws away from the child, the oldest boy also crept towards him. "What the hell is going on here?" The girl child kept biting him, he was practically dragging her along at this point.

At this point he had to turn his attention on the boy before his problem became two. "Young man, don't you dare. Vidaar. No. Bad. We don't attack people, bad. No." At this point the girl was hanging onto his ankle, tiny puncture wounds bled. He dragged her along as he tried to reason with Vidaar.

He was getting closer and closer, his sister was doing a great job at distracting the man until he turned around. He tried talking to him again. No. no. At these words repeated again and again, Vidaar's crawl turned into a run as he lunged at Kevalin, straight to his throat. He hung on for dear life, his tiny milk teeth dug in as far as they'd go. Tiny claws viciously kicking out at the man.

They were fighting again.

Vaska had watched his siblings sneak out of the den; he had caught the devilish glance they’d conspired. What was stopping him from turning away and letting them get up to whatever they wanted, while he closed his eyes and tried to find some sleep?

Their departure is what swayed him, and a memory of the look he had seen their mother give when they wrestled and fought and played. It might have been love. That was the only word Vaska had for it - and he noticed, subconsciously, that he had never seen mother look on him like that.

So, he decided, he just needed to be more like them. But when he joined his siblings outside, his resolves faltered, and instead of tearing into the fray like he compelled his paws to do, he heard his voice rising up with the red faced man in a sharp and pleading, “stop!”

And he rushed towards his brother in an effort to latch onto anything he could grab and maybe hopefully pull him away.

Their brother Vaska came rushing out of the den, crying for them to stop fighting. Venere growled, releasing Kevalin, but now she turned on her albino brother, little tail lashing as she bared her teeth in a challenging growl of, "No! You fight him!" Mama wanted fighters after all, did she not? Wouldn't she love them, if they all proved their worth? Venere pressed forward, aiming to ram into Vaska, to get him moving.

"No more babysitter, got it. Were there any other complaints you wanted to air out while we were here?" He couldn't help laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. Was he seriously trying to negotiate with two whelps?

"Alright kids, fun's over." He dropped to the ground in a roll, attempting to dislodge Vidaar, but the pup's grip remained firm. He turned his attention towards the girl. She had stopped attacking him and was trying to force her smaller brother into doing so. He felt sick for him. He growled at her, despite the fact the Vidaar still hang from him in his continuous assault, he would be a barrier between Vaska and Venere.

And he would not at any point call for backup because he was being attacked by whelps.

Vaska was finally coming to join them, good. They needed all the help they could get, the big man just wasn't going down! Vaska was pulling on him instead! Vidaar snarled. Venere had his back. She would make him fight. Vidaar would keep the man busy.

The man tried to get rid of him but he was good! He kept ahold and everything, mom would be proud. The man took him all over the place and swung him like crazy, it was actually kind of fun.

The man kept trying to interfere with everything. If he wouldn't let Venere make Vaska fight, then Venere still would. He just knew it.

He wished he was better. He wished he was stronger. He wished he could hold his ground, like Vidaar, like Venere.

But he wasn’t.

And he couldn’t.

He let go of his brother when Venere charged at him, released his hold with a panicked cry.

Why wouldn’t they ever listen to him?

Vaska scuttled back, and hardly noticed how Kevalin set himself up as a barricade between himself and Venere. His eyes blurred with the onset of spluttering tears. If Venere didn’t get to him now, what would stop her from getting to him when Kevalin was gone?

What was he supposed to do?!

The child wept ugly tears, and butted his head half heartedly into Kevalin’s side. Whether fighting him like his siblings egged on, or seeking some comfort in the safest thing he could find, even Vaska wasn’t sure.

The big man put himself between Venere and Vaska, and she snarled at him as best she could. "NO!" She was a whelp of few words, still, but still knew how to get her displeasure across. If Vaska would not fight the man, she would show him how, even if all she could do was prick and poke at him. Venere, so much like her mother, went straight for the kill, so to speak. Her teeth sought the man's throat, and she would bite with as much force as she could muster. She was sick of seeing him.

Through tears the albino boy began butting his side. His heart ached for the kid. He duck his head low so that his mouth was to the child's ear. "Deep breaths, don't let them see your face like that, calm yourself child." He whispered quickly to him. Right as Venere lunge for his throat, joining her brother. He now had not one, but two pups hanging on his throat. He knew their grips wouldn't last forever, especially Vidaar's now that he had been there for some time.

He wondered not for the first time if he should call for help, but he didn't even know where Vex was. And who knew how long it would take for her to get here. That's what he told himself anyway, it was nothing about pride at all. He growled angrily at the pups hanging off of him and shook himself, swinging the pups wildly, with any luck he'd dislodge their grip this way.

I didn't realize it was my turn, sorry! This is the last from Vidaar

Vidaar's bite was starting to weaken after the time spent latched to the man's throat. As his body began to swing through the air he felt his grip release and his body fly. He landed with a grunt onto the ground, winded and exhausted. He stumbled slightly as he got to his feet. Snarling angrily at the man, he turned and ran inside the den.

Last from Venere!

Venere had had enough, as did the big man. Venere loosed one last snarl at him, stared scornfully at Vaska, then returned to the whelping den. She was exhausted, and would easily fall into a deep sleep, now that her energy had been expended.

Thankful not to have any pups hanging off of his neck anymore Kevalin sank to the ground in relief, and curled his body protectively around Vaska. The boy had room to step out and away should he need, but with his siblings out of the picture Kevalin felt he was finally able to give the boy a bit of comfort for once, and he didn't hold back. "It won't be easy here, but I'll do everything I can to protect you." He vowed to the boy.
