All Welcome

often times he departed the island for a reason. whether it be of a task or for social reasons. today he wished to see the nearby lands further. examine the wildlife and growth along the coasts they shared.

for such a task he happily extended an invitation towards the young @Mojag and informed @Heda that he (or they) would be back by sunset.

he had not seen this sight before.

the collection of sleek beasts sunning themselves as the sun climbed higher and higher. what was their purpose? what was God's vision when he had crafted such a thing?

regardless, he respected their personal space and watched as some of them seemed to lounge in piles. others seemed to slap their weight along the sandy shores in an attempt to move to other spots.

how odd.

she was far less captivated by the sunbathing behemoths than he. rather, the sylph was drawn to the earthly kissed hues of the stranger's own form. his narrow frame, the locks that hung from atop his crown, the unfamiliar appearance of something not quite unlike her own. but was he? was he one of her own?

she could not tell with the distance that hung between them, and the wind offered no kind favors to the wandering sprite. and so she danced her way closer, not afraid to hide her unbashful interest in his alien outward form. she slowed her approach only to gauge if he'd be well receiving of her curiosity, and offered nothing more than a slow, calculating sniff in his direction.

he had come here to watch.

now he was being watched. a woman dancing closer with curiosity lit upon her. he did not wish to speak upon some sense of fear deep in his chest at this. he was reminded of his horrid spring and his gaze seared with his embarrassment.

quickly his head turned away from her, bashful, back to watch the seals.

but he did not decline her presence.

she stopped when the distance had closed enough for her to get a proper look over him.

she thought him an odd thing, but not ugly.

his domestic appearance was unfamiliar, captivating, perhaps even handsome in the right lighting. thin legs, draped ears, tangled curls never before seen. it left her wondering just how he'd managed to acquire such an unusually alluring appearance.

the inner embarrassment he faced was lost to the sprite, and so she settled herself, content to admire him while he enjoyed the display of seals painted before him. should he happen to glance her way again, she'd stand and give a twirl, silent consent as if to say you may look upon me too.

his face grew hot when he stole a glance.

she twirled. now he was captivated and unable to look away. he could not deny the way God had blessed her with such beauty. yet it pained him as much as it awed him.

she was blush and cream, long legs akin to willows he had once walked. his eyes too pale for him to tell their given color from here. but did it matter? he already had stared at her too long, with no words escaping him.

somehow the cold air felt more like spring than fall in that moment.

unlike he, she was not ashamed nor insecure when he looked upon her. not one to often appreciate the intimacy and warmth of physical contact, the sylph preferred this distant game of stolen glances, enjoyed it even.

they were pieces of art, well sculpted and with all rights to be admired. she a pastel painting of flowing watercolor, he an abstract composition of earthly tones.

his eyes did not stray from her form, and she let her tail flow through the soft breeze that drifted across the shore. an invitation for him to draw closer, should he wish.

he could only bring himself to move a step or two.

temptation, he named her in his mind. he watched as the sea breeze shifted her fur, not yet curled by the salt like his own. his gold eyes appreciated every little detail he could see from here. the thick near mane-like aspect of her fur around her delicate face. soft tufts upon her ears.

oh good heaven.

he was thinking far too much about her.

he moved now, but it was still at a distance. softly following the trail he had back to sweetharbor. only a few steps! wondering if she might...follow.

why did he hope?

she watched on, baby blues captivated as he shifted among the scenery. her heart gave a gentle thrum at the anticipation of him stepping closer. the world blurred around him, and he suddenly became the only thing in her sight that mattered.

his steps were slight, almost inviting, though they head in a direction she was not familiar with. where he bound for was unknown to the sprite, though she could not deny the urge to follow. the desire was an itch, and he the remedy.

and so she trailed after him, a silent shadow in the distance. where he might turn or stop so did she, a game of follow the leader if there ever was one.

it became a dance between them.

the waves their music as she followed his steps. sometimes he paused to take a long look, then continued on fine limbs. soon enough the island would come into view, his home.

his sanctuary.

could temptation be brought there?

he turned once more to look upon her, then out towards the island.

she followed wordlessly, unquestioning of where he lead her or what his motives might be.

she simply appreciated their walk for what it was - a moment of stillness in a world of bubbling chaos. here nothing was expected, nothing was asked. here she drowned in sea-song of lapping waves, in gentle kisses of sun-warmth.

it was only as the distant island formed in her vision did her pace slow. he looked to her then, and she to him.

was this where their journey end? did he wish her to follow still? she sought for his gaze, eyes of cool arctic seeking for signs of guidance. she did not wish for the calmness to end yet, for she was not prepared for the storm that followed.

like a child plucking at the petals of a flower, she tossed about her thoughts in the wind.

to be alone.
to not.
to be alone.

she took a step closer, breathless as she look to him.

ebb and flow.

ebb and flow.

he felt a thousand things before her. this was not some dirty dance between them. if anything, it was the holiest contact he had had. for they did not touch, they did not speak. they only moved as two working parts in God's grand machine.

he hardly missed dove these days, but the dance he performed now reminded him of the early days with her.

they looked to one another. hawk's gold met the soft ocean blue.

he did not wish to leave her behind and yet he could not bring himself to ask anything of her.

she knew nothing of god or machines. she knew only of what laid before her now, and the desire that manifested within. she'd been alone for some countless months, aimlessly drifting among the breeze while hoping to take root somewhere.

and now the wind had led her to him. this she ached for. not for his flesh, but his company.

he offered what few had, and the sylph did not know if she would be so fortunate as to find another such as him.

to be alone.
to not.

she decided then, her thoughts plaguing her no more. the soft patter of footsteps filled the air about them as she aimed to close the distance between their forms. she dare not dance close enough for any sort of physical contact, but hoped through this speechless gesture that he might know her answer.

her eyes spoke where lips were still. where he led, she would follow.

they did not need to speak to each other.

together they would return to sweetharbor, where she may stay or drift through. he knew little of her beyond this moment but it only enchanted him further. that such compatibility could be found in this silence.

he would not touch her or drift any closer than she did, unwilling to dirty this moment.

fade and follow up at sweetharbor? <3

would love that <3

and so they found themselves in a familiar pace as he guide her to the island. she didn't not know what to expect when they arrived, and so she assumed nothing. it did not matter what rest ahead, she was not alone to face it anymore.

for the first time in what felt like an eternity, she was content.

she only hope that whatever company he had acquired before her would be just as effortless to harmonize with.
