All Welcome
The light seemed to fade from the sky much earlier than before. Though the snow allowed the world to glow brighter, it was a strange feeling to watch the daylight vanish to be replaced with long nights. The last of the warmth had gone with it. Everywhere in the hollow had been dampened by the fresh powder and chilly winter air.

Emmerich trudged through the snow. He had just finished his last trek along the borders of their home. His legs were tired and cold. His eyes were heavy. The young wolf had spent the better part of his day set in patrol. He had hoped that if he kept his legs busy and his mind occupied, the cold wouldn’t bother him. It had done little to ease the numbness that had set in.

Warmth was all that drove Emmerich home – warmth and a long rest.

the raven flew in wide circles over the hollow. the winds bit at him, the Windfather angered, as he was, cyclically.

it was only his second winter, and so yonder knew little of navigating a flurry. necessity - inability to feel his wings - forced him to land, seeking shelter beneath the needles of a pine.

a branch, heavy with snow, needed only the slight movement to send its icicles crashing trough the boughs. they landed in the packed snow by a young, passing wolf, raising fine, white mist.

yonder huddled, tightly hugging his body. he thought of the warmth of his nest, and the long, blissful sleep he'd forsaken - all for a blind chase after a family member, who, most likely, probably never really cared for him.
