Limit Two
Arric's sleep had been restless and he had found himself at the borders before even the sun rose. Wearing a line from one end of the border line he chose and the next. Never stopping. A mechanical movement to his steps. There was so much and he was fast realizing, as much as he liked Reverie. There was something off lately and there had been. Whether it was stress from having her child the way she had or losing Lestan. There was just something off and he didn't quite know what to do.

As promised as the sun Rose he drug himself to the den of @Akavir, hoping @Moss would turn up soon enough. He hated to bother his friend especially given that he was spwnding time with Jakoul and the pups. Though as he arrived he didn't see Jakoul.

When he srrived he look3d for the babies excited to maybe see them. After all the little fur balls were like his neices and nephews even if he hadn't fully met them yet. Jakoul having guarded them zealously.

Moss had spent the night hunting, in need of an outlet for her anxiety. She hunted down a rabbit, and then tracked the movements of a small herd of dear. In the night, a fawn was born, only to be taken by the wolf moments later. Several other does were pregnant- she would watch over them in the coming days.

She brought the fawn with her toward Jakoul’s den, an area which she had avoided when she’d learned the woman was pregnant. Jakoul’s scent faded away, peculiarly, replaced only with Akavir’s. She thought she’d seen some anguish in his eyes, just days ago- but had not known the meaning of it.

Regardless, she approached with caution, carrying the fawn with her. Arric had already arrived, but she would wait until Akavir accepted her presence near the children before she’d enter the den.

There had been reprieve for a night—or, a break from the drama that surrounded the creek wolves in the form of a gilded she-wolf who’s elevator didn’t seen to quite reach the top floor. @Jakoul was his primary concern now—but he knew was out of time on trying to come up with a solution when he heard paw falls outside the den.

The pups slept—for now. Soon they would awake and hunger, and he had nothing to offer them. Surely, they could begin meat now. It must have been time?

He hadn’t slept—and so, disheveled, he unfurled his protective form from the trio of whelps and gingerly stepped out into the morning light, his eyes cast upon both Arric and Moss, knowing the reason they had come to him—

—But he was the first to speak. “Jakoul’s missing. She wasn’t here when I stopped by last night… and she hasn’t come back this morning.”

All thoughts left Arric's head for a minute and all he could muster was a quiet. Well shit. Are you okay? Are the babies okay?

Arric half wanted to check, but he knew that Akavir may not like that. Even if it was with good intentions. Instead he waited and studied his friends' disheveled appearance. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Everything was devolving and falling apart.

Another drop of bad news- made all the worse with the knowledge that the only solution in their pack was the issue Miss and Arric had come to speak with Akavir about. Miss had not yet seen Jakoul’s children, but figured they still needed some source of milk.

Akavir looked exhausted, beyond capable of being devastated further. Arric offered condolences and silently, Moss nodded.

All children of Swiftcurrent Creek were deserving of their care; she just hoped Akavir had a better alternative than asking Reverie to raise them as well.

we can fade this or keep going, since this is so outdated. up to you guys. <3

“No,” was his response given to Arric—though he assumed the other knew this already. Moss was silent—but not in a way that was unexpected. Then, his eyes studying the others, he withheld a sigh, rolling his shoulders back to try to ease the tension and ache of his back and chest. He was unused to holding a pack of sad puppies for an entire night.

“What happened at the borders after I left? Lestan seemed hurt.”

I'm good either way.

Arric shrugged a shoulder. I don't know. Rev took care of him, then grabbed blossom and him and disappeared into the pack lands. That's actually why we're here, we're worried about that baby.

Arric didn't know about those two. They were strange ducks. And he worried for that baby so much.

eee sorry for holding this up!

She now felt a little bit better for having not been the one Reverie chose to settle with. If this was what she was putting Lestan through, and he was going along with it, then only fate could have mercy on them. They'd taken the young child and had run off, right when the pack might have needed them. Reverie didn't seem quite stable enough to making that decision, but she also assumed that within a week, they would come running right back in search of forgiveness and shelter.

Now, there were Jakoul's children to worry about. "Where will they nurse?" She hoped Akavir had some sort of backup plan.
