All Welcome
it was cold.

the shadows of the spires here amplified that.

he hoped it meant that the pika here were fat and plump. he had scented a few as he weaved along and the sight of crevices seemed promising for the hunting. he had gone as far as cramming his nose into a few spaces, likely not the brightest idea. yet with this level of chill in the air there was little hope of an angry reptile striking out in return.

something uglier than a snake, though? he had not given that much thought.

it was with his nose currently stuck in one of the many crevices here that he thought he heard something behind him.

As his family settled northward, Brac drifted through the land in between. It had been hard not to dwell on the cave paintings left unfinished in the ravine, and the fixation drove him to finally leave the land they began to fix as their home to tend to the work he had left behind.

He had already travelled far by the time he'd reached the Redoubt. His parents had warned him of the rattlesnakes here, so he chose a large outcropping to rest upon, one that had no cracks for smashes to dwell on and that overlooked the red land below. He had come to reckognize the form of kin moving about the sands not far beneath him, and Brac had settled to watch the Coyote hunt, amusement and curiosity sparkling in his eyes.

Unafraid of a like creature, Brac hummed a short song he'd heard the song birds sing, quiet enough so as to not disturb the hunter's prey, and loud enough he hoped the coyote might turn and find him hidden upon the rock.

a soft song, hummed on the breeze.

it was better than being found with growls and snapping. his gaze looked around until it landed on the darker figure. hidden among the stones and spires.

kartik was entranced by the mystery of it all.

sing again? he asked and blinked up with honey-warm eyes.
