Trade
Moonlight danced along the red sands. The stars winked down on a pelt of red. While singular sea green eye measured and watched. She slowly began to stretch her legs, her back. She worked the knots and kinks out of her back and legs.

Finally, she began the slow motions of training. Running up the stones and soil. Digging claws into the dirt hard and grainy. Maneuvers in the dark for shadowed enemies. Breathing in and out.

The noise of shuffling brought Kemal out from his place of rest. Expecting a mischevious fox or a scavenging bird he was on guard, but the source was not what he had expected. Instead of an enemy, it was Safiya - he thought so at least. Name's had never been his specialty.

He didn't know the young girl well, but nonetheless he was curious. It's late. He stated the obvious fact from where he stood, shadowed and lurking. He hadn't thought that part through entirely.

Safiya was trying to be quiet. And had she both working eyes. She probably would have done better. But she was of the opinion that warriors should train in all weather and at all times. Just in case.

She blinked and studied the man. He would have been sought after by the fellahin and princesses alike in Alashingo. Tiye would have made herself stupid for him. Safiya was not of that vein despite his pretty face.

Quietly she mumbled under her breath. ahmaqu. min alwadih

She shifted and looked at him with fierce singular gaze. I know. But Mazoi er Warriors should be trained in all weather and at all times.

He listened with an unmoving, frozen expression, eternally neutral.

Nodding at her explanation, he finds it to be respectable. I did the same once. When he was still in Siena, still learning. I have fallen out of practice, however. He thought so at least, after the confrontation with the puma. May I join you?

There was a good chance that their methods were different, but it would be good for him to learn nonetheless.

I roll a simplified roll for spars. I do ever wolf starts with 30 hp and I do one roll 1d10 or 1d5 whichever you prefer. And the amount of roll takes from hp. If you prefer another way let me know if you even want to spar that is. ?

This wolf had very few expressions. But this was not an unknown to her. After all she had grown with mazoi. Men who were duty bound and restricted.

But he didn't anymore. She frowned. She didn't agree either letting oneself going to seed. Perhaps it was youthful arrogance. But she saw no need to quit training.

Then he surprised her with a request. A brief nod. Yes perhaps we can learn from each other.

That sounds perfect to me! Could we roll the d10?

She agrees, Kemal pleased with the outcome. Let's spar, then. No need for blood to be drawn, but I'd like to see how you go about it. Since arriving in Verapaz he hasn't had a sparring partner. Life was quick-moving and lonely, there was no time for it.

Trotting onto even ground, he lowers into a steady stance.

Safiya 30/30
Rolled a 5
Rolled here and 1d10 is fine. I won't give her anything extra this time
Despite that she has Mercenary trade

Safiya took stock of the situation. This man was twice her size so she had that going for her, and also against. She would need to watch his hits. She also did not know how well he was trained.

She circled first watching his movements. Then testing. Leapt forward to snap at his blind spot. Aiming for a direct hit.

I'll be rolling in the server!
Rolled a 1

She was quick. Going for his blind spot, the girl hit him right on. Kemal found himself reacting without thought, reeling himself back halfway through and destroying any momentum he had; only grazing her with his claws instead.

He was feeling nervous to hit her. She was small, young, a packmate, and of course.. a girl. Old habits stood strong.

Thinking back to the puma, he reminded himself that this training was for the good of the pack. All in good fun. Neither of them would truly injure the other, and if she was a warrior as she said then surely she could handle the pressure.

Rolled a 2
Safiya 29/30
Kemal 23/30

In her excitement to train again. She overshot and his claws scoured a hit. She had to scramble and loss momentum. As such her next blow aimed at his shoulder was not as hard as she had planned.

If she had know his reservations she'd have laughed. Safiya has been tortured. Her eye had been ripped from her face while she was conscious. He could not hurt her.

She was overenthusiastic, and she too lost momentum because of it. Kemal took the opportunity to aim a harsher blow of his paw to her ear, and attempt to knock down the other.

He could see the skill in how she moved, the direction of her eyes as she analyzed his own movements as he did hers. She was a worthy opponent; it would be good for them both to have each other to train with, should they each remain in Verapaz.

Rolled a 10
Safiya 24/30
Kemal 13/30

Despite that she had started out Rusty. Safiya corrected her enthusiasm and used her loss of momentum to gather her thoughts. She was thinking hard. She was in good position. His blow had hit the ruined side of her face.

She back pedaled enough so it was still a glancing blow. But she was able to aim upward and try to butt her head into the underside of his chin. Hopefully her aim was true and jarred him enough he had to regroup.
