Sven moved about the stone circle. He raised his leg and then narrowed his eyes to stare off into the distance. There was not much left around here and part of him wondered if he should simply move on. But a more stubborn part, his father's part stuck tight and didn't want to leave. Where could he go? What could he do? He had no one left. They were all gone. Had this been why his father had left all those years ago?
he settled to his haunches and he watched and he waited. For what he didn't know.

There was much to see beyond the lowlands, but despite the thin and very new cord that connected her to the desert, Disa found herself drawn back to it each time. The sand-blasted stone and mean, prickly vegetation was home.
She had taken a scenic route back from Moonspear, repeating the word albinism under her breath so as not to forget it. So focused was Disa on the foreign word that she had not noticed how eerily organised the stones were until she was among them. Nor the wolf that sat there, his back gray and speckled like the stones around him. It was too late not to say anything.
"Wolf," Disa said, chuffing in his direction. "What're you looking at?"

Sven didn't travel far from stone circle
Wondering if someday his siblings would return. He doubted it. Should probably leave himself soon. Search out a different place.
He titled am ear and turned. He couldn't even growl at her for being among the stones he was merely one wolf. There was no such thing as a pack of one.

A friendly. Disa shifted her weight back and forth between her forelegs a few times while she sized him up. Him and his funny little white socks.
"I'm looking at a boring walk back to the desert," Disa said, nodding south. "After a break - I'm on a mission. The long kind," she emphasized. Clear silver eyes searched Sven's face. "You ever really wanted to hurt someone, stranger?"

Sven didn't say anything as she studied him. But he did suddenly feel very wary. Who was she and why did she watch him so intently. Was her intent malicious.
He tilted his head. A mission of sorts. One that was long. What did she have to prove? And why?
Suddenly his ruff rose and he felt his skin prickle. He tilted his head and shifted his weight.

I have and I wear the scars to prove i tried. But foolhardy is the prideful and the youth.

Sven cocked his head to one side, studying her intently. He looked uncomfortable. Disa sat stock still, waiting for an answer. Her eyes drifted to the broad rift in the fur on the right side of his chest as he spoke.
"Oh, I don't know about that," she mused quietly. "Sometimes you need a young wolf's foolhardy fire to do what needs to be done." She jutted her chin at the scar. "Was it worth it?"

She didn't move to attack him. So he eased back into a neutral situation. The fur in his ruff laying down, mostly. He had truly thought she was about to attack him. He was horrified. He jad immediately jumped to the worst conclusion.
Yes and no. The wolf who gave it to me. Did indeed leave my family's land. But my brother also left. And here I am alone again.

Disa only noticed that he had puffed himself up when his fur settled again. She smiled ruefully. He seemed skittish – a man built for a big family and vibrant pack life, sitting alone in an unnatural circle of stones.
"And what will you do now?" Disa tilted her head to one side, staring at him with her big silver eyes. "What kind of pack draws...?" She let the sentence hang, waiting for a name.
