Born to the aspiring warriors Merle and Belasko, she along with her siblings were encouraged to fight for food, sometimes to the death. Many times, Morrígan killed or brutally wounded one of her nestmates. When she was old enough to fly, she was trained to kill not only prey (which was rare among ravens, who were natural scavengers), but other birds, mainly crows. She looked up to her parents, and was devastated when they were killed during a crow raid. Angered that the current leader of the ravens was too incompetant to retaliate, she set out to usurp the throne and take the position of ruler herself. Proving to be an efficent warrior and strategist, she quickly rose up the ranks. Once she became the right-wing of the leader, she killed him one night, leading him into a weak cave system and letting him die in a collapse. She found his body, his neck severed by a particularly sharp rock. She tore the head off of his body and brought it back to the woods, showing off his severed head to the conspiracy. No one dared challenge her claim to the throne, and she became the next matriarch of the conspiracy.
