in all the possibilities - Alarian - June 05, 2018

ugh sorry this is late. this pack meeting is mandatory. set the day after this thread.
@rey we can assume this is after Vilkas arrived
@Delight @Lanawyn @Lily @Queenie @Liri @Korei Julia @Horosk @Xahi @Vilkas @Steele @Brennan @Khali @Kavik @Ulf
After he had spoken to Delight and Lanawyn about the bear, he reluctantly made his way to the Broken Boulder at the center of the territory. The coast was far from here, but he worried about the brazenness of the attack. Did the bear simply seek to inhabit the territory, or was something darker behind it? A hatred for wolves— for that particular pack? Would it come after the member they housed?
Alarian couldn't answer these questions, but he knew the pack deserved to know. While the coast was a fair distance, it was not so far they were unreachable. It was not so far that wandering that direction was entirely safe. He paced for several moments, then stopped and tilted his muzzle skyward, calling for the entire pack. The Governor's message was clear; this could not be ignored.

RE: in all the possibilities - RIP Kavik - June 05, 2018

Kavik hadn't been doing much when he heard the alpha's howl, so he instantly began trotting in the direction it had come from. He soon found himself in the center of the territory and immediately noticed that Alarian seemed distressed.

He padded closer and once seated, gave a respectful nod of greeting. He silently wondered what was going on. The tone of Alarian's howl and his current body language made Kavik nervous. He knew he would have to wait for the rest of the pack to show up before his questions were answered, so he didn't even bother asking the leader anything; he just remained seated and quietly waited for the others.

RE: in all the possibilities - Steele - June 05, 2018

Steele was wondering around the packlands, looking at all the sights letting himself get familiar with it when he heard Alarian’s howl. This howl wasn’t a normal howl and he thought he might have a hunch for what this meeting was about, because so far he had heard no one talk about what he told Alarian and Lily. Slowly Steele trotted toward the sound of it, he didn’t want to be the first one that showed up nor the last.

In the back back of his mind he was afraid that when the pack knew about the bear, and that he was associated in the pack that was run off by it, they would want him out. Though these thoughts were serious he walked up and greeted Alarian and Kavik with a slight smile as he sat down.

RE: in all the possibilities - Eris - June 06, 2018

perhaps she had no right to stand next to her brother, but it had been lanawyn and delight that alarian had first told about the bear.  not korei, not xahi, lanawyn.  she made her way to the front of the pack and coolly reclined on her haunches as she awaited the pack's arrival.

RE: in all the possibilities - Lily - June 06, 2018

Last night, Lily had dreamed of a bear. Or, at least, what she thought a bear might look like. She'd never seen one in the flesh, but spurred on by Steele's story, it had burst onto the scene of a nightmare, all teeth and claws and matted hair. She'd been rooted in place like a tree as she stood frozen, helplessly watching as it ripped to shreds Korei. Lanawyn. Vilkas. Alarian. She was powerless. She could not move as the bodies piled up before her, and just as the bear went for her own throat, she woke with a shudder.

Alarian's call came from outside, and Lily slipped from her den, the lithe shadow-girl making her way out of the crevice to find four wolves assembled already: the Governor, of course, Lanawyn by his side, Steele, and a dark male she hadn't yet met. Ali looked fretful; this must be about the threat posed by the bear. Giving him and Lana a stiff, businesslike nod, she padded over to Steele and sat down next to him, giving the man a reassuring smile.

"Hello, I'm Lily," she said to the unknown wolf, grinning amiably. "You must be new; welcome to Bracken Sanctuary." Tail wagging just slightly, she turned her gaze toward Ali, patiently expectant.

RE: in all the possibilities - Vilkas - June 06, 2018

vilkas walks a half-hearted patrol of the sanctuary's borders. he tells himself he is familiarizing himself with their perimeters but he knows the territoriality is far too ingrained in him to be anything other than it is. they have an open border policy and if he smells scents wandering into the pack lands that do not belong there is nothing he can do unless they are being aggressive or uncivil. idly, he wonders if stealing from their food caches falls in one of those two categories or not. he doesn't have enough faith in others to believe that one day the open border policy wouldn't be throughly taken advantage of. it's a surprise that it hasn't yet but the sanctuary has the benefit of being secluded to the north ...for the moment.

as the firebrand makes a mental list of questions regarding the murky areas of his assumed role as enforcer — for he has no other word to to ensure that anyone visiting their lands keeps themselves in line and guardian strikes him as a bit moot; alarian's summons rise into the air. his questions would have to wait for there is a underlining urgency to the howl that causes the wispy hairs at the nape of his neck to bristle with unease.

vilkas is not the first to arrive he sees. his gaze touches first to alarian then to the woman perched at his side, the silver and black colored man — and moves to a thick, ink clad male where his gaze lingers. the only reason the firebrand's gaze subtly lingers for a few seconds longer before he diverts it is because the familiar form of lily is seated beside the inky stranger. it takes all of the firebrand's self control to keep the swell of jealousy that rises within his breast tempered even as it threatens to curl his upper lip back and snap. the internal war is taxing as vilkas forcibly reminds himself that lily isn't his and that there's no right to feel that want to chase the other man away from her. but the raptorial man is fueled and driven by instinct and instinct tells him that right doesn't matter.

an ear twitches but he keeps himself composed. somehow. the struggle is real, however; very, very real. the firebrand moves towards lily, however; and assumes a position at her unclaimed side, offering her a gentle nudge of greeting as he favors silence. he does not seat himself — there's far too much tension thrumming through his body for that ( both caused by the irrational jealousy that still burns through him and swells heavily like a pool of lava in his chest and the underlining urgency in the governor's call ). instead, he turns an expectant gaze to their leader waiting for the meeting to begin.

RE: in all the possibilities - Síff - June 06, 2018

Liri is in the midst of the pines when the call goes up, storing some sun-dried herbs. It is the second urgent call she's heard in the few weeks since she's joined.

The last a burial of Ioa, a girl she had never met until watching her be laid to rest. It had wrenched her heart but not over the loss of Ioa.

Liri hastened to the Boulder, too slow to get there first, but arriving as fast as her three good legs could. The tiny girl's chocolate eyes widened in surprise as she drew closer. There was a handful of members, most unfamiliar males.

Liri clings to the edges of the group, nervous and unsure but too proud to admit it. In the case of catching someone familiar's eye, she gives a small nod.

RE: in all the possibilities - Brennan - June 06, 2018

He was hunting when he heard the call, tracking a fox on the outskirts of the territory. The first time the leader had called, he had avoided it, feeling no right to be at the burial of one of the pack's own. This time, it was clear he could not. Brennan set off swiftly, not missing the urgency to it. Some others, mostly unfamiliar, were already there when he arrived. He knew only two of the gathered wolves, and Lanawyn sat beside the Governor.
Brennan trailed behind Liri towards the outskirts and settled near her, glancing over at her once to offer a nod. Other than Lanawyn, she was the only one he had formally met; it made sense to stick close to her.

RE: in all the possibilities - RIP Stephanie - June 06, 2018

The days that Queenie spent residing within the borders of the Sanctuary all seemed murky and grey, so forgive her for not knowing what this meeting was about. Upon hearing Alarian's seemingly urgent call, she stood, albeit sloppily and with little haste, and began to make her way over to him. Hey, she barked as she approached, finding her seat off in the flanks, What's going on?

RE: in all the possibilities - Khali - June 06, 2018

Khali was walking along the borders sniffing around to see if there was anything he could put back in the caches since he did take a deer to eat he wanted to give back. When he heard Alarians call it was alarming to him at first, another wolf, but then he remembered he was on pack territory, the pack he joined. With a quiet sigh he turned and slowly slinked his way back to the huddle.

Khali was one of the last ones to show up and if he could be blushing his face would be as red as a rose. He brushed it off though and sat secluded on the side hoping that not many would see him, he had been at war in his head about this decision he had made and had barely gotten to know anyone. He hadn’t even questioned yet why everyone was here and why The leader had called them here.

RE: in all the possibilities - Ulf - June 06, 2018

It was hard to miss the call and even harder to miss all the scents that crowded his nose. Jaws parted and tongue hung lazily out of his mouth as he made his way to the scene. Ulf had never been apart of big events like this but the call had made it clear enough that he should attend.

A sense of anxiety briefly gripped him seeing so many feral creatures. Ulf tried to brush the feeling off (with little success) as he decided to linger in the back of the gathering away from most of them. His pale gaze settled on only Alarian.

RE: in all the possibilities - Korei Julia - June 07, 2018

Korei Julia heard her alpha. Two meetings in close times? She started off, moving to where the meeting was and found that she was...rather late. There she sat, looking about curiously as she saw some she did not fully recognize. One of which had an odd eye. That caught her attention but only for a second.

RE: in all the possibilities - Ariel - June 07, 2018

ooc: WHOOPS slides in here w a phone post

---

he knows why ali's called them and he does not want to deal with it. a bear? a bear?!

but delight's about to be a father and he's chancellor here -- he can't ignore the issue. so reluctantly he comes when called, making his way towards where alarian stands and looking out over the rest of the pack only a *little* anxiously.

RE: in all the possibilities - Xahi - June 13, 2018

(Mobile)

Xahi heard the call to our in the middle of a hunting session. She looked towards the sound, then back towards the rabbit with a time of hunger. Although she would’ve loved a nice meal, Xahi knew what her priorities should be. The girl raced to the sound of his voice, joining we fellow pack mates quietly.
