Bleh first post. Lots of useless fluff! :P Open for anyone! <3
A startling realization hit Khafra as he shrugged into the abandoned den he'd found in the heart of Blacktail Deer Plateau — his new home, as strange as that thought sounded as it echoed hollowly through his mind. He actually missed Mushu. This wasn't to say that he didn't miss his mother, Mulan, as well because he did but Mushu had been his partner in crime; or rather as the “baby brother' Khafra had suffered lovingly albeit exasperatedly endured Mushu's company forced upon him. Mushu had meant well, Khafra knew, and as a small child Mushu had been the hero and Khafra the awe struck mere mortal, trembling just to be his glorious presence. Of course, Khafra had thought the same thing of Osiris, the few times that Mulan would speak of their absent father. Osiris, known in Mulan's stories of her estranged lover as The Pharaoh was nothing short of an enigma to Khafra, a mystery; though secretly knowing that it was his father he took after, physically made Khafra — named for a Pharaoh (it wasn't the God of the underworld but it was still an honor) — feel closer to Osiris. Not in any way he could willingly explain but still.
A soft grunt left the egyptian dragon's lips as he pushed himself out of the den — still a little too claustrophobic for his personal liking — and stepped into the partially cloudy afternoon, the cooler tepid air rushing along his whiskers which trembled slightly before he shook his coat free of dirt and debris that clung to his agouti fur, and mottled cape of black and silver along his nape and spine. Eyes of deep champagne studied the still foreign land wearily for a few moments. He glimpsed over his shoulder at his work in progress den wistfully. Yes, though it was an astounding thought to him, he found himself wanting his elder brother's company. Silence was left in the wake of Mushu's near constant (and often annoying) prattling and Khafra wasn't sure what to do with it; nor what he was meant to do with his revelation.
Nothing, he supposed, for Mushu had opted to remain in Imperial Grove while Khafra itched to go out and explore. Indecisive, Khafra simply stood there awkwardly deliberating on whether he wanted to continue working on his den or take a break and see to introducing himself to some of his new pack mates.

eyes the colour of palest champagne drew lasher. he remained close to the plateau, though he missed luke and had scented him on the borders recently. the caldera remained a thorn in his side, but he had set his heart against it, and against peregrine.
with all that had transpired, the beta felt it best to guard his borders against newcomers. the fragrance of an unknown wolf brought his hackles to bristling -- he skulked in search of the stranger, only to find that the strange-eyed wolf had dante's scent writ into his personal aroma.
the agouti was still for now; taltos cleared his throat and approached a few paces, standing tall beneath the banner of his rank, though his eyes were soft with an affable expression.
