Sleepy Fox Hollow hungry

Thin and weightless, the clouds trickled by, leaving only a pale shade of sunlight to wax and wane across the hollow's exposed footpaths. The place was filled with a sweet-weathered ambiance, like a true high noon in spring, and the construction of bounties grown this time of year seemed to finally be well underway. Here it was quiet for now— as most of the foxes here were spent and lazing by this hour— but a larger predator prowled still. A wolf, dagger-toothed and keening; inspired by the warming weather to take advantage of what little creatures had skittered forth to forage in the newgrowth. With the fluid relentlessness of a river, She-Ra scoured the earth for something sating.

Kalina smelled the wolf before she saw her but almost didn’t catch the scent at all from the smell of foxes clinging to the air. Foxes, like wolves, were in direct competition to coyotes, as far as Kalina was concerned, so she planned to get out of here as soon as possible. Well, she had planned to. But now with the scent of wolf lingering in the air, she was lured towards it like a moth to flame. It was a dangerous game Kalina played with her bigger, meaner cousins, but it was a game she played with relish. The scent was female though, and therefore useless to the coyote who had recently made it a point to attempt to flirt with whatever male came her way. Still, this was a chance for a potentially exciting encounter.
