All Welcome
Ryūjin had proven to be a rather interesting place to explore, the great cavern he now called home was a beauty above all others and the way the forest flourished within the mountain itself, Hadraniel would believe it to be a naturalist's dream. He was not so interested in the herbs that grew but instead the animals that he shared a home with. He was unfamiliar with mountain prey and if he intended to prove his usefulness he would need to scout for the creatures he would later hunt.

Though that was not all of his concern. He wondered what predators lurked within the cavern as surely there would be some about. This was after all a  glorious place to live and Hadraniel doubted the wolves would be the only ones to seek out it's riches. So with determination upon his face, the sandy male set out to find whatever creatures and beasts would be wandering about.

Since her lessons with her mother had grown more frequent and more intense, Shiori found a greater need (and greater joy) to study. So, somewhere in her busy schedule of napping, attempting to hunt, and playing, she wandered the cavern in search of plants.

This day she had woken early to find that her family was either still asleep or long gone, and so she skipped any interaction and scrambled out from the den into the scant light of the lair. And she began to walk, following familiar paths and those less traveled. At each familiar plant (there were few, for very little could survive the colds of winter, even in the lair) she stopped, taking a nibble when safe and simply repeating the name and purpose when not.

On she would have went, if not for the sudden appearance of an adult in the distance. Despite the fact that she usually never strayed so far from the rendesvous site without Asterr, Shiori approached with characteristic gravity. Hello, she called. We have not met.

A child was the last thing he would have thought to come across though he supposed she could make for some decent company. "Indeed we have not" he said while looking down on the girl who reminded him of Chusi. Expect for the eyes, those reminded him of Asterr and he wondered if this was the chieftess's child that stood before him now. However it truly didn't matter who her parents might be, he was happy to spend time with her either way. After all, he had always had a soft spot for children.

"I'm Hadraniel" he introduced while lowering himself to her eye level. He waited a moment so that she might introduce herself if she wished to before asking "whatcha up to?"

The hatchling was just as surprised to see another wolf as he was to see her. And a man, no less! Shiori had yet to meet another male besides Ukko, her father. He lowered himself, and she took the opportunity to meet his gaze respectfully. She smiled, polite to a fault, and nodded demurely. I am Shiori, I am pleased to meet you, she said. The hatchling brightened at his question. I am greeting the plants. Come, would you like to meet them?

Hadraniel found the girl to be a curious little thing. Her way of speaking sounded so formal for a child of her age and yet he felt it fit her fell. "Greeting them?" he asked with a tilt of his head. Never had he heard of anyone greeting plants, but it was because of this that he found himself interested in what she had to show him. So he stood and glanced down at the inky child, patiently waiting for her to lead him away.
