The sun was high in the sky as the shadow trotted towards the river. As blackened tongue snaked out over dry lips, his ears swiveled, funneling noises around him into his perked ears. Yet only the noise of water underneath the ice reached him, and he bent down to take a drink.
Pawing at the ice, his brows furrowed, and he moved down. Slurping was heard as he found an opening. He flicked his ear, the wind going through the split irritating him. That only made it worse, and a rumble in his chest attested to his frustration. Putting his head down, he rubbed his ear with his foreleg roughly, the itching settling. For now. He shook himself out, the irritation gone feeling good as he went back to drinking.
The roses are wilted,
The violets are dead,
The demons run circles
Round and round in my head.
I once saw the end of my life.

Eck this post isn't great, sorry :o

The sky was alight with golden beams of light casted softly onto the ground, a canvas of light blue coated in a layer of puffy clouds. Her own delicate face was illuminated by this gentle light, oceanice gaze searching the horizon as she took slow steps forward. This day was a strange, peaceful and sunny one to perhaps herald the coming of Spring. She could not truly say she would look forward to spring - of course, it was a time that brought plentiful amounts of prey and colourful landscapes, but the ghost's favoured time was Winter. Perhaps because of the few memories that she still treasured even after such a long time. Like the one with Knew - he had led her to a frozen lake and together they had played and laughed and slipped into each other until they had no breath in their lungs and the cold had found bitter entrance into their pelts. The very thought of his cheeky grin made her heart lurch in her chest, a faded memory that aged as she did and marked one of the last moments of her joy. She missed him.

The dove's movements halted as she approached the frozen water, and her eyes fluttered closed as that picture revealed itself to her mind again. Stop it. There was another figure there, pawing at the ice with irritation clear in his frustrated actions - instantly she backed up a step and gulped silently. Storm? Was it him? Oh no... oh no no no. Gwen's eyes widened and she began to try and creep away in hopes the man had not noticed her.
