The rain had changed just yesterday–when the sky clouded over with dark grey clouds, the youth had expected the usual sloppy, wet weather to eventually drive her to the shelter and comfort of her mother. Instead, white stuff had fallen from the sky, and Meadow had watched it with awe. It was pretty–but then again, so was the glowing embers of fire, and her lungs still ached from that.
She had watched with trepidation after that, slinking away to @Pema’s side, burying herself in the safety of her mother’s embrace. Once it was explained that the ashes had not followed them, the agouti girl found her adventurous legs once more, taking to explore their new home.
Tiny paws stirred the already fallen leaves of autumn that blanketed the ground. Peering up, drizzle peppered the trees with a soothing noise, despite the dampness in the air. Meadow hadn’t said much since their arrival, and had slept for days after it, her body trying to heal itself after the smoke and fire.
Now, she just missed her father, feeling as if this new home wasn't quite as good as the one they had left–where she had her whole family.

His sweet sister! Timmy felt isolated from everyone lately, including her, and the chocolate-furred boy bounded toward the girl, tongue lolling in a slack-jawed grin. "Meadoooowwwwww!" he cried out, sailing through the air to pounce on her tail.
Pouncing on tails was his favorite activity. No, wait. . .wrestling. No! Wait! Eating bugs. Definitely Number One. But pouncing was close. . .
"Whatcha doin?" he asked, nuzzling her on the cheek. She had been quiet, lately. Well, she was always quiet. But, like, REALLY quiet. It was kinda scary.
