Morning, 25˚ Foggy, tags for ref
He had slipped away from the mountains, following the lead of a few departing mountain goats. He could not fault them for dispersing. When the ground shook so high up upon the mountain it was rather daunting. But he had lost their trail as it moved into places he didn't wish to travel. Still he kept moving though as the dawn broke through.
The world seemed bleak though. With its rather cold temperature and shrouded in fog as he looked all around him. He was utterly alone out here on the banks of the lake. The sounds of Diaspora far behind him and the voice of @Antha could not be heard. It was this realization that drew a soft
ohfrom his lips.
Where had he ended up now?

current condition: underweight, bruised, scratched. - sorry for length! haven't written w him in ages so had to account for a lotta stuff.
it was no shock that reif was...not doing too good. in fact it could be considered some sort of a miracle that the boy had even found his way down from the mountains in one piece. especially since the land itself had put in its best attempts to wipe him from the earth; send him tumbling into whatever void that had claimed ariel. although, he was not beyond such a fate for he was painfully aware of the shakiness to accompany each attempted movement and the yawning emptiness of his stomach. in fact, what had started off as but a hindering annoyance had become a all-ecompassing agony that roared riot from his insides. like a plague it had started off in just his stomach yet had now proceeded to spread out and fill each of his organs until he was but a walking bag of pain and discomfort. the worst part was though, that not only did it leave his muscles weak and nearing uselessness; it made his brain sluggish. yes, that was what reif feared; not the pain, not the threat of losing the ability to move- the struggle to put thoughts together that should come so easily.
the world's shifting had driven all his senses into a terrified jumble at first yet it had become an obsessive curiosity afterwards. a determination to discover the what's and why's. it had become such a tempting challenge to the slight boy that he'd wandered from the safety of his home and simply not turned back. in hindsight he hadn't had to ever feel nervous about getting lost, reif remembered everything; even what he wished to forget like the way the earth had been stained with the pooling of blood to seep from the insides of his mama that fell forth from his body at the flick of the beast's paw. he'd only recently discovered that it was not the usual; most wolves could not recall every little detail down to the placing of nearby rocks in the majority of their memories. although that also didn't seem to be reif's only differences but he preferred not to think too deeply on the rest.
anyway as special as his mind was or not, it could not foretell the angered rumble of the earth that sent forth a wave of its self to build an untouchable wall of debris between the boy and his home and have him racing in the opposite direction to avoid being crushed. he hadn't felt...sad exactly, the obsession at discovering what this was having taken over any other cares for his family but concern had blossomed at the reality that there was no one to care for him and reif lacked independence on a drastic level. so he had simply began to deteriorate which as he'd mentioned, hadn't been overly concerning when it'd just been the physical side affects but the realisation that something as simple as hunger could take out a brain as powerful as his was most definitely daunting so with a new respect for the cries of his guts; the boy had moved slowly through the lands searching. he would not, could not, hunt so his only chance was finding someone else to do it for him or come across the scraps someone else had deemed inedible. reif wouldn't be picky as long as he could provide his body with some sort of fuel.
it seemed the former would be his choice today for a pale form, easily dwarfing the skinny boy with it's bulkiness, came into sight. coughing lightly, he'd stumble forward with a new intensity until nearing the man. "i need...food" it slipped from his jaws scratchy from lack of use but there's an intesnity burning in sage eyes despite their flightiness, seemingly unwilling to meet the man's gaze for more than a second as he wobbled on fragile limbs.
