Dante hadn't expected to run into her, but his ears tipped back to catch the sound as she called for him to wait.  Left one tilting sideways in acquiescence, he slowed, wheeling around to meet her.  He was uncertain, but if she was finally ready to reach out again, he wasn't going to spurn the attempt. He just wished he wasn't in such a foul place at the moment for dealing with this. Saena's leaving, and his dealings with Koda, had left him drained. He was afraid he didn't have much left to share with Osprey.

He took note of her condition, though, and softened somewhat. He was glad he had taken to leaving food, for she did not look well, and it was even clearer up close. That she would keep to herself to the point of jeapordising her own health and the health of her pups (should she wish to have them) was rather troubling. But he kept quiet, not wanting to start for fear of driving her off again. Instead he would let her begin.
