Kero wished things could be as simple for him as they were for Luke, and Luke on the other hand pondered how others managed to make things seem so complicated. His free spirit was evident in this way, he was impulsive and went along with whatever came because for him there was no finality to most things, and if things did not work out, it was not the end, only the beginning of a new adventure. It was a different mind set, one that was he predisposed to and developed as he matured.

"I couldn't say," he answered with a roll of his shoulders. He had spent no time with the packs here nor discussed them with those he had met. He could only reason. "I don't think anyone prefers to have a persistent inflow and outflow of members, but I also don't think anyone sensible would argue someone's wish to leave if they felt their place was not there." Luke paused. "I mean I wouldn't, if I were Alpha. I'd rather have a small pack of those who wanted to be there than a valley full of those who didn't but were staying because they felt obligated. I think things would be more harmonious that way."
