Saena peeled back her lips and jeered at Sebastian. Perhaps he was a decent wolf and perhaps not. It made no difference to her. He wore the scent of Redhawk Caldera, and that made him an enemy to Saena and her wolves.

Yet he did seem rather clueless, and that was what saved him from feeling her teeth a second time. The temperamental yearling had no problem taking a risk to drive him off, but she stayed her assault because he seemed to genuinely have no idea what was going on. To his first remark, she said, "I think I know my father more than you could ever hope to," and wisely kept her opinion of Fox to herself.

To his second, she snarled, "you tell me what makes me so important. I was invited by my father himself to teach my half-sister Naturalism and I was nearly killed for that. You think I know why?" If it wasn't obvious from her aggression that Saena was as puzzled as he was, it was clear from her words. She recognized there was a potential to find out just what the fuck was going on from this wolf, if she kept her temper in check long enough... but it was barely in check. She was barely civil, and for good reason.
