He had devoted himself, no questions asked. It had been that fast. Toxochelys had moments ago been a dangerously unfettered predator with only his own will to go by. Thuringwethil had remedied his ailment simply by showing up, and she wasted no time in filling him in, for which he was appreciative. The tawny seabeast was loathe to be caught unaware under any circumstances. He would need the details she offered to keep to their best interests.

She began with names, with the famous Odinn’s Cove first to receive a mention. He recognized Gavriel of her own wolves, and was not surprised to learn that he would find him there. Of the other two, he was ultimately uncertain. He knew to attach Gyda’s name to the previous note regarding Odinn’s Cove despite the fact that he had never met her. He was an aggressive guardian, first and foremost, but Toxochelys knew his facts.

The Commander stopped at a fallen tree on their route, and appeared as though she was noting it for the first time. His violently orange gaze shifted to observe her as she explained their relations with a pack to the northwest. This, perhaps, was one of the most important details to him personally. The fact that they had obeyed orders thus far only meant that they hadn’t been given enough time to disobey, in his experience. There would always be one who would.

"What else can you tell me?"
he pressed her, hungry for further intelligence.
