All Welcome
A Great and Terrible Hunger had taken the Blackrock's beta. At any time of day, at all hours of the night, she could be seen stalking whatever small creature caught her fancy. Sand crabs, seagulls, seal pups - and most often she caught them, for there was a glint now in her eyes that'd not been there before; a meanness that was dictated by nature itself, for no mother lived or raised cubs without a little meanness in them.

That day, it was a chittering squirrel. The unwitting creature was scurrying about, gathering food for the coming winter. Doe moved as slowly as she dared through the bushes, head thrust forward and shoulders bent -

Doe pounced, but the squirrel was faster, this time. With a cry of rage, she tore away from the wood and headed back toward the heart of the territory, swollen teats swinging with every step. She'd left a snack in one of the caches, she knew, and that would just have to do for now. Though she couldn't quite remember what it was, she felt as though nothing she ate would ever be enough anymore - these pups of hers needed more than she could catch just for herself, and though Szymon supplemented her diet with all manner of cool, slimy treat from the sea, she was just so hungry now it was like she'd never eaten before!

So when she discovered her favorite cache to be - well, not empty, but definitely missing all her usual and favorite fares, it was all just too much to bear. With a cry of rage and a hiss like an agry wildcat, she turned her head away and cast her glinting eyes across the sand.

"Murgash!" she howled, cold rage beginning to fill her tiny body.
