Only his own family had gotten close enough to him to not terrify him, but these presumed "strangers" were the best he had for now. He gave a calmer whine, nestling himself against Wildfire's larger frame in fear. Her words did not sooth him like Portia's did, but it was enough to slow his breathing as he shut his eyes tight so he didn't have to look upon it anymore. He felt like a small, wounded bird getting chased by a jaguar, even though no real danger had stepped forward to threaten him.
