"You left your family?" Her question spilled without reserve, her words sprung from a place still raw within. She held no judgment in the look that passed across her face, only the need to understand. Nanook knew why she had left her family behind, and she felt a choking pain strike her chest. Ezekiel couldn't have left for the same reason - she hoped with all her heart he had not.
