It was strange that, while young and forbidden from exploring too far from the edges of Moonspear's territory, Lyra wanted nothing more than to do just that, but now that she was old enough to do so, the girl preferred to stay within her home. A part of her was somewhat afraid of the outside world, and the encounter with that dark, foreign wolf at their borders hadn't helped. Yet curiosity tugged at her limbs, urging her to the distant lands she could see from Moonspear's highest peaks. She was no budding scout like Alya, but she was entranced by the idea of adventure.

The worst of the winter seemed to be over, as well, which made travel all the more tempting. Blades of grass accompanied by tiny, bright flowers were finally beginning to peak through the last smatterings of snow, and Lyra admired them as she passed them, making her way to the mountain that sat opposite their home. It was a dark, mysterious place, but the soft daylight and Lyra's general cheery demeanour helped to not make it so scary.

At least, it was until she suddenly came across the scent of a stranger. The girl paused, the smile dropping from her face immediately as a familiar pang of anxiety raced up her spine. Instinctively, she turned to look at her sisters for support, only to remember she had gone about this alone. Breath quickening, she looked ahead, seeing the source of the scent roaming far ahead of her — a vibrant spot of red against the darker background. She started to wish she had been practicing her stealthiness, though there wasn't as many places to hide on the flat mountain paths as opposed to forests.

The next best thing Lyra decided on then was to switch to the cool and confident Hydra...at least as good of a Hydra she could imitate, anyway. Taking a deep breath, she faked a sense of purpose and strode forward, veering her path off to avoid having to deal with the other female altogether.
