His prey remained unaware that they were being stalked as they milled about, and Artaax was determined to keep it that way. He focused on moving silently and smoothly across the ground, mimicking the way that the ducks glided so effortlessly across the water. The hard work had seemingly paid off, for he managed to close the gap between himself and the rabbits to only a dozen or so yards. He stopped then to study each critter in turn, trying to determine his next move until his gaze landed on the pair of rabbits that Thur had spotted. Target acquired.
