Mawk's amber gaze trailed back to where the herd grazed, and his tail flicked nonchalantly behind his rear while his mind drifted ever so slightly from the present. After a moment of silence, he finally looked to Valette once more. "Thank you for the conversation, I haven't been able to speak with you for a while. Even if this wasn't the lightest of subjects." 

"I think I should go and start patrolling before night falls, but I'd love to be able to talk to more wolves in Easthollow - once all this trouble has settled, that'll be one of my priorities I think. Though the safety of those wolves comes first." He smiled a little, nodding in respect before standing up and preparing to head off. If she called him back, he'd stay - if not, he'd take his leave.
