The development of strength enough to crawl more easily and eyes capable enough to discern his presently amorphous family meant that Rhakios could more or less position himself where he wanted to be. There were two spots he found most comfortable: on the outside of his siblings, with one flank against them and the other exposed to the air, or on top of them. These were the spots where he found that right balance between warmth and space.

He was roused quickly from his nap when his positioning was compromised. Illidan had come beside him to nurse and sandwiched him with their sister on his opposite side. His first reaction was to reach out and swat his brother, a behavior that, along with shoving and his repertoire of noises, had become a routine way for him to express displeasure at his circumstances. Then with a grunt he lugged himself over Illidan's back and made himself his brother's cape, with his chin plunked between Illidan's ears and his legs draped on either side of him.

Closing his eyes and licking his lips, he attempted to return to sleep.
