All Welcome
she paused once at the edge of the water, tail wrapped close around her haunches. it was here, many weeks ago, that she had seen the girl slide into the water before she herself had drifted far out of the wilds. her time alone had not been kind; her fur patchy and ragged, ribs protruding, and her distended belly stark against her thinness, a looming reminder of what she'd done. gaze fixed on the distant lump, wondering at whatever it was that had prompted the wolf to cross. her breath came fast, and fear tasted bitter on her tongue along with the brine she'd yet to get used to.

retreating, poppy slid back to a place safe from the waves from which to think. sliding neatly backward until she lay semi-awkwardly in the sand, chestnut gaze peered out over the sunlit waves. head stretched out on the sand, breath filled and then left her, ears flickering once before the woman fell still, wondering just how terribly her world had fallen to pieces.

Adopt my pups!
