Broken Boulder pattern evolving, motion insolvent

Something in her blackened and broke off.

Lily didn't feel wanted?  She supposed she should have seen it coming but it stings in a way she struggles to wrap her mind around.  Growing up, Eris hadn't felt wanted.  She had watched Alarian and Zamael hole up together, throw pity parties for each other, had that not been what she had given Lily?

She didn't even say goodbye?  Tears welled up in her eyes as she scoffed in indignation.  That bitch! she repeated forcefully, beginning to shake.  I'm not — it's not you, she attempts to comfort as she begins to feel her chest tighten.  Lily was her best friend, the only one she had that understood her troubles with Alarian.  She can't talk to Liri about this, who seems too wrapped up in herself, or Steele, or — anyone.  

I need a break, she blurts, lip trembling, and I want you to help me.
