"i'm fine." he assures her. a spindly branch ripping out a tuft of fur stings but it's not concerning, in his books. and to complain about it, even though the stinging has ebbed away seems ...well... babyish to him. by the time he finishes assuring her he's alright it has already ceased to sting. their conversation switches back to his inquiry which she answers with a question of her own. he thinks about his response for a bit, figuring that his natural response of not really might not be taken too well. even though he would not have meant it to be an insult. his capacity for play has been used up during their short-lived game, admittedly. "i don't know." he replies instead, wondering if that means that it's time they part ways.
