she does not respond to his name. he hadn't really expected her to. she's been decidedly quiet for the entirety of their meeting; a fact that is surprising to wintersbane whose ( brief ) experience with other cubs allowed him to create the assumption that they were all as chatty as tywyll. she stops before him and he watches as her tail arched upright, her body lowered down and then lunged at him with a loud noise. on instinct, wintersbane braces for impact but it never comes. instead, she shoots past him towards the dark woods. his head turns and glacial gaze surveys it with deep contemplation. there is a lure. a feeling in his chest, an encouragement that he does not understand nor does he try to decipher. he trots after her calling out "wait." as he follows.
