All her life, Genie had wanted the superpower of mind reading. Wouldn't it make life so much easier if she just knew what everyone was thinking without her talking to them, or looking out for those incredibly annoying social cues? She would know if someone liked her or hated her, if someone's intentions were bad or good. Life would be better and easier. Unfortunately, superpowers did not exist.
Genie thanked Chusi for a number of things — for not laughing, for being such good company, for befriending her, for the food, for, well, a lot of things. Mostly, however, for just generally being a nice person to Genie. "'Night," she murmured, her eyelids slowly falling shut as she relaxed completely into Chusi's sigh and within minutes had drifted off into the realm of sleep, her breaths deepening and slowing down.
Thank God she decided to take a little trip away from the Vale.
