She shirked her duties for the day to explore the base and outskirts of Moonspear, as well as to burn some peculiar restlessness that had built up. Rannoch needed check ups less and less now and the rest of the pack seemed in good health. After notifying both Alya and Hydra, the girl slipped from the borders and towards the large lake that could be seen from their home's peaks. Even the rain couldn't deter her.

She blended effortlessly into the darkness as it fell, feeling at ease when the night provided such cover (not to mention still being within a howl's range of her family). She wandered lazily to the lake, enamoured by they way the moonlight reflected off its flat surface. Before she could reach its shores, however, Lyra spotted another and froze. He was a titan of a wolf, swathed in wild, pale fur and for a terrifying moment she thought he was the one who had attacked Rannoch.

But no. The scent that drifted towards her was not familiar, and the way he walked was unlike the other beasts' movements — he seemed more assured and calm. Lyra approached hesitantly, blue eyes gleaming from the moonlight as she stared at the hulking stranger. He was oddly handsome, at least as far as she could tell given the dim light. She kept her distance, however, cautiously walking to the lake's edge just as he had done and dipping her head to drink.
