Blackfeather Woods the langoliers

a masculine voice called softly; relmyna's ear flicked and she turned her ruined muzzle toward the source to regard the blackfurred man with her brilliant, wary gaze. he would not be so close if he were not also of blackfeather — her leader she knew to be a fierce creature. and so she relaxed somewhat, and swayed her tailtip in a placating manner. 
perhaps he would like to come and view the altar with her? but she did not wait for his reply; relmyna turned back to the glowing place and felt its siren tones in her heart.
