There was a strange period of time in between doing it and undoing it, during which Queenie was more than happy to sit inside of her little bubble and recover. Those moments could have been used to think about what they had just done and what it meant, or to contemplate why they had just done that stupid, stupid thing and what stupid, stupid thing would come next. 

Once they had finished, oh, did Queenie regret it. Unlike other times, though, she didn't have a friend to go vent to, because her absolute best friend was the one who had hurt her.

It wasn't entirely Delight's fault, either. In Queenie's mind, he had done the right thing; he was in charge, so her heat was his prize, and when she had come to him, she hadn't expected to be denied. It takes two to tango, she reminded herself with a breath, half wincing at Delight's touch. Without thinking much, she moved a few steps away, ears laid back and eyes low. I'm fine, she told him, voice cold and chilling as the winter winds. 

I'm fine.
