The Sunspire I'm offended that you're so surprised

As vain as Goldy was, he was not about to let his pack starve! And so, he brought the caches and the wolves he lived with a blessing; a plump mother rabbit. Its babes would probably die for his actions, and so that would become his punishment for killing the most beautiful rabbit he had ever laid eyes upon. It had been a very thicc rabbit.

With the beauty's body dangling from his mouth did he return to the mountain, huffing with anticipation and panting from the minimum effort he had put into catching it. He hoped someone would see him (@Seabreeze , the goddess, most of all) as he very much contributed to the pack's well being.

Coelho hadn't strayed very far from Bronte that morning; he was still within audible distance, and she was mindful of that as she picked over a glut of pebbles in concentration. Her ruminations were interrupted as the rustle of grass underfoot announced an approacher -- curiously her long ears canted forward and her sorrel gaze sought out the stranger.

Right away, she noticed the prize dangling in his jaws -- but she was more interested in him. She was struck with the impression he was quite regal, and assuming he was of higher import than she, dropped her head and waved her tail genially. "Hi!" She chirped, her eyes bright with interest.

The lion was proud of himself. Perhaps more than he was entitled to. Catching a rabbit was not the most challenging thing in the world, but he was young and didn't know better than that food came from the peasants beneath him. He felt useful for a change. His lion head jerked up and his light pink eyes found a rather odd looking wolf(?). The other gave him a sign of respect, something he had been used to back at home but not here.

One paw smoothed down his mane, but as soon as that was done he took some steps towards the female that smelled of the Sunspire. He raised an eyebrow, placing his kill on the ground so he wouldn't sound dumb trying to talk to her. Owh - hello, good day miss. He greeted, his warm voice carrying a hint of surprise.

Coelho luckily had never witnessed the ferocious splendor of a lion, but had she, she would have easily drawn the parallels between a lion and the majestic carriage of the wolf before her. He was quite self assured, and Coelho smiled nervously as he dropped the rabbit and smoothed his wild mane with a paw.

Her tail never quit its earnest wagging, and she regarded him with a warm smile as she spoke. "Hello! That's a pretty rabbit." Her voice, as bright as her sunny disposition, had no semblance of coveted want or envy in it - just an observation. "I like your neck fur. It's also pretty. I'm Coelho!" Excitedly, she turned once in place, her paws pitterpatting on the ground in an energetic cadence.

He smiled, liking that others thought a bit of the same he did. Gladly he wasn't the only one slightly attracted to rabbits, but they were just so soft and fluffy (just like him and he very much liked him). Not the giving type, he didn't offer her piece - it was for the pack as soon as it reached the caches, was his former pack's rule. Unless it was too heavy, which the rabbit was not despite its thiccness. The other could take it whenever he placed it at the cache.

A blush settled underneath his fluffy fluff. Why thank you, Coelho. I'm Goldy. He liked the peppy creature far better than the seemingly cold woman that marked their borders, Treason. You sure look unique for a wolf. He wasn't very good at complementing if it wasn't in his head. He sounded rather awkward most of the time. His tail wagged on the beat of her own excited movements then, overwhelmed with something he wasn't very familiar with; genuinely liking someone.

Coelho made a great show of admiring the fierce tufts of fur that encompassed the man's neck -- a cloak of gold and russet befit for a sovereign. Her gaze gently roved from the scarf of long fur that cowled his neck to his regal muzzle - respectfully, she did not meet his gaze.

For a moment her tail skipped a beat, halted by the stilted compliment the male offered. While the palpable awkwardness was absolutely well above Coelho's radar, she did at least recognize that what he had said was fairly unusual. A smile, however small, hovered across her lips and she nodded without missing any beat further. "Oh yes! But I'm not a coyote." While some might have thought this repetitive statement was a joke at this point, Coelho recited it with articulate and genuine earnest. "Where are you going with the rabbit?"

PPing to archive, hope that is okay friendi

After a brief conversation where Coelho admired the rabbit, and Goldy ate up her admiring glances, Coelho realized she hadn't seen Bronte in a while. Apologizing profusely for her bad manners, the girl dipped her head in one last salutation towards the thickly maned and majestic man, and then skipped right off. She hoped she would find Bronte before sunset and set off into the hinterlands at a speedy clip.
